Oriental Whirl: Goo Hye Sun works her Magic Compiled by A-WEI [email protected]
MULTI-TALENTED Korean actress Goo Hye Sun’s first full-length directorial effort, Magic — 2010,
will be released on April 22.
Hye Sun, who shot to fame in hit drama series Boys Over Flowers, not only acted but also wrote the screenplay as well as composed the music for this film a story about young musicians, their love lives, friendship and sacrifices. The cast includes Lim Ji Gyoo and Kim Jeong Wook and Seo Hyeon-jun. Hye Sun made her directorial debut in the 14-minute short The Cheerful Caretaker aka The Madonna,which received favourable review in various short film festivals.

Quoting gongjunim/ Sharon in spazzbox, the premiere event of Magic on Apr 12 was an internal and closed door event. Magic is scheduled to open in June instead. The formal VIP premiere will also be held by then.

구혜선 '요술', 한달 연기 6월 개봉 "편집 공들인다"
GHS's MAGIC is opening in June in order to put more efflort into editing.
[OSEN=최나영 기자]=Osen News by Reporter Choi Nah Young 구혜선 감독의 첫 장편영화 '요술'이 6월 관객들을 만난다.
2008 년 단편영화 '유쾌한 도우미'를 통해 감독으로서의 재능을 인정받은 감독 구혜선의 첫 번째 장편영화 '요술'(YG엔터테인먼트 제작, 김정욱 임지규 서현진 주연)이 당초 5월 22일로 개봉을 확정했지만, 한 달여 정도 늦춘 6월 개봉으로 다시 가닥을 잡았다. (This is even more confusing part! IT says that Magic was going to open on May 22~~could it be a typo?? But they decided to postpone to June instead.)
'요술' 관계자는 "구혜선 감독이 첫 장편 영화 개봉을 하는 만큼, 후반 작업과 편집에 공을 들이려고 한다. 5월 개봉이 조금 이른 감이 있다고 판단, 더욱 완성도가 높은 작품을 선보이기 위해 6월로 개봉을 미뤘다"고 전했다. As this is her very first commercial full-length film, she wants to put in even more effort into the editing and other necessary finishing touches to the movie.
'요술'은 예술학교를 배경으로 벌어지는 젊은 음악가들의 음악에 대한 열정과 경쟁, 그리고 그들의 미묘한 삼각관계를 아름다운 영상과 신비로운 음악으로 그린 영화이다. 구혜선은 이번 영화에서 시나리오, 연출, 음악 등 1인 3역을 동시에 맡아, 개봉 전부터 관심을 집중시키고 있다.

Again, we still really do not have an exact date of opening. In the last article that I posted, GHS was changing the OST music a great deal. It was going to be 100% her music but she said that only 30% of OST is going to be her own composition and arrangement. I think her MAGICis proceeding nicely one step at a time, I see that Koo Gal is alsooverflowing with energy and it looks good~Wish BIG SUCCESS to MAGIC!Also, wishing FIGHTING for her next acting project!

I also watch Wed&Thurs Cinderella Sister. I used to love the drama called PIANOand somehow Cinderella's sister EunJo remeinds me of 'SooAh' character.Even now I am writing as I listen to OST for Cinderella's Sister~~ Iwill see you again soon. Let us all be happy!!
