The Perak versus Selangor game on 12 February 2008 will be a real battle. Red Giant humiliating defeat at their home, Shah Alam, on national TV is very hard to take. The lost is still talked about. Many are still in denial mode. On TV after the game, Coach Dollah still said that his team had done superbly, but silly mistakes had cost his team the defeat.
The February 2nd win is very much talked about. Glorified in the yob4ver and in Perak, as one of the greatest achievement of the year. Meanwhile in the Selangor camp, post mortems were done, and everybody were blamed. Coach Dollah receiving the most brunt of the criticisms. Certain key players received tongue lashings for not performing to their expectations. The introduction of their Indon imports, Elie Aiboy brought little impact to the game. When Frank Seator did not play, Selangor scoring machine was ineffective.
Tomorrow抯 game at Perak stadium has evolved into a different kind of scenario. It is very obvious both teams run the video tape replays over and over again of the previous game. They are formulating new strategies for offense and defense. They keep on practicing and doing their research and homework.
Both teams know each other very well. In fact too well. Frank Seator and Indra Putra used to play for Perak. Khalid Jamlus used to play for Selangor. Coach Darby 3-5-2 formation was effective against Selangor. Coach Dollah is trying to find clues on how to break the formation.
In fact, our colleague, the Duke had written a very systematic procedures and systems on how to beat Perak. If Coach Dollah and his team read Duke抯 article, they might be tempted to use it. But, it may not be the case that Duke抯 formula is effective. What Duke wrote may not be what Steve had planned for Selangor tomorrow. It will be a mystery until game time and after the final whistle is blow.
Selangor is very confident, they can beat Perak. They are very positive. They are motivated. They have the big word REVENGE written on their faces. They come. They see, and they want to kick some asses.
Red Giant抯 objectives. Slay the Seladang. If they can do that, their miseries will be over.
Would the Seladang permit the Red Giants kick their butt? They would if Perak play less than intense, play over confidently, and make too many mistakes.
Perak cannot afford to make mistakes and lose. There are only 4 points differences from the leader Kedah. Perak objective is to catch Kenari on the fly, and plucked off its feathers so that it won抰 fly too high.
