Ricardo Carvalho and Florent Malouda could return for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Carvalho (back) and Malouda (knee) will be given fitness tests tomorrow, but Michael Ballack (ankle) and Michael Essien (suspended) are definitely unavailable.

"Everyone knows who Arsenal are, they play good football, fantastic football. Everyone loves to watch Arsenal play. But I think we do as well, we can play and we have that fighting spirit. We can stick in there and make sure we don't lose, which we have to do at the Emirates." - obi mikel

Gullit fears for Chelsea's Shevchenko

LA Galaxy boss Ruud Gullit fears Andriy Shevchenko will never show his best in a Chelsea shirt.
"Shevchenko is a great player and I don't think he's finished but maybe for some reason it doesn't suit him to play the English game," said Gullit. "It's the pace of the game. Most of the time in Europe it's a slow build-up, you pass the ball, but in England it's pressing, all the time the pressure is on and the referees allow a little bit more." The physical nature of the English game still shocks Gullit, who has worked abroad since he left Newcastle in 1999. He spent a year at Dutch club Feyenoord and has just taken over at LA Galaxy. Gullit said: "I saw Newcastle play Arsenal and I was irritated by the fact Newcastle slammed into them and the referee allowed it. If you are used to Europe, you think it's a foul and you don't get it. You get frustrated and think, 'What the hell'. "You play in the FA Cup against a second division team and the referee allows everything. The opposition kick you and you have to cope. Sometimes because of that you can lose a game. Not because of the football. "But this is England, it is different. They have less quality than the opposition and they work their socks off. I understand that and I appreciate what Newcastle did but from the point of view of a football supporter, I hate it."

Alex: Confusion Over, Title Challenge Back On

Chelsea defender Alex has underlined his team's title credentials ahead of the key Premiership clash against Arsenal.

After an early season crisis following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, the Blues do seem to be finding their rhythm, and are now between touching distance of Premiership leaders Arsenal - whom they face on Sunday.

Defender Alex, who himself has become a crucial player over the last couple of months, believes that the tricky terrain is duly behind them.
"We went through a very difficult period," he said on the club's official website.
"There was great confusion for everybody. We were all very used to Mourinho and he was a great man who helped me a great deal.
"There was a lot of confusion and it did make a difference. We dropped points, particularly at home when he had some draws.
"But, gradually, we are creeping up and keeping in touch with the leaders, which is the most important thing."
Chelsea are just three points off Arsenal, and can join the Gunners with a win on Sunday.
Should Manchester United play out a draw at Anfield, there could be three teams sharing the lead in what is turning into the most exciting title race in years.
