The popular 2005 Korean movie "Watashi no Atama no Naka no Keshigomu" (also known as "A Moment to Remember" and "The Eraser in My Head") will be remade into a drama special this spring. NTV will broadcast the special in its "Kayo Drama Gold" time slot (Tuesday 9:00pm). Kyoko Fukada and Mitsuhiro Oikawa will play the lead roles.
The movie itself was a remake of the 2001 Japanese drama series "Pure Soul ~Kimi ga Boku wo Wasuretemo~." The original story involves a young couple who discover that the wife suffers from Alzheimer's disease. In that version, the couple is a company president's daughter and a carpenter. In the upcoming remake, the couple is a female art school student and an artist.
The special will be directed by Marehiro Karaki, who also directed "Pure Soul." The rest of the cast includes Hiroshi Fuse, Yoshiko Tanaka, and Akiyoshi Nakao as the wife's parents and brother. Eiichiro Funakoshi will also make a special appearance as a doctor.

Pop duo Dreams Come True are to be just the second act to perform a solo concert at the National Stadium. The only other group deemed big or important enough to play the 60,000 venue was SMAP in 2005 and 2006. The stadium is used for field sports, such as national soccer games, and athletics meets and has very strict conditions for holding non-sporting events. DCT's management were in negotiations with stadium managers for about 18 months. The two shows, on September 22 and 23, will be the last in their 10-show "DoriCamu Wonderland 2007" tour that will also include the Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Osaka Domes. They do the tour only every four years, and this will be the fifth in an 18-year career during which they have played to over 4 million fans. The tour starts on August 4 in Sapporo. Formerly a trio, DCT is now made up of vocalist Yoshida Miwa (41) and Nakamura Masato (48).

Teriyaki Boyz featuring Kanye West
February 09, 2007
What do you get when you bring together an American top dawg with an all-star Japanese hip-hop group? A global mashup for the 21st century, and a Fendi party to boot.
It抯 late November, and rapper Kanye West and Japan抯 Teriyaki Boyz are about to give a select audience of Japanese celebrities and fashionistas a preview of their new collaboration at a party hosted by the chic Italian fashion brand inside Tokyo抯 National Stadium. The Teriyaki Boyz are huddled backstage with their Universal Music people, and the boss is giving a touchingly optimistic pep talk to the effect that the Boyz are ready to take on the world.
The track that Universal hopes will break the Teriyaki Boyz abroad is 揑 Still Love H.E.R. featuring Kanye West. |

Anno to direct Japanese version of "Strings"
The Danish film "Strings," which premiered internationally in 2004, is a fantasy film whose cast is composed of marionettes. A Japanese version is scheduled to open on April 28. Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (of SMAP) and actress Miki Nakatani star as voice actors, while Hideaki Anno is directing the cast and Keishi Nagatsuka is handling the dramatization.
The new version will not be a typical film dub, as Anno has partially rewritten the script to better reach a Japanese audience. The film's official Japanese title is "Strings ~Ai to Kizuna no Tabiji~."
