New York-based visual effects house Suspect has added an organically-growing tattoo to pop star Christina Aguilera in a commercial to promote her perfume line, Christina Aguilera Fragrance. We join the robe-clad superstar in a penthouse constructed on a set as she scans over her wardrobe unable to decide what to wear. Spying a bottle of her perfume, the starlet disrobes. As she sprays the fragrance, the mist gently lands across her back creating a tattoo that spreads over the contours of her body. The delicate lace tattoo emulates the design on the fragrance bottle and is much more exciting to wear than any item of clothing in her closet. "The spot抯 main focus was the tattoo that we would 'grow' on Christina抯 back to look like the bottle of her new perfume, which would then be sprayed onto her body," says VFX supervisor and lead flame artist Tim Crean. "This required extensive animation tests -- the large tattoo had to grow quickly, but not feel aggressive or malevolent. "Next came the spray mist, which was a little tricky in that we were animating across a moving surface. We constructed several CG tests first with Particle Systems, then the directors shot practical elements for the mist to be incorporated with the live-action. "The most challenging aspect of the process was that the tattoo had to move with the angles of her back. Very similar to a recent project we completed for Eucerin which married imagery with skin in a feminine, beautiful way. Unlike Eucerin, we were challenged further by such a large range of motion by Christina."

JESSICA BIEL, SCARLETT JOHANSSON, TERI HATCHER, EVA LONGORIA and CHRISTINA AGUILERA have designed a one-off range of Frederick's Of Hollywood corsets, which will be auctioned off to benefit charity Clothes Off Our Backs. The annual sale takes place on Thursday (25Oct07) and Frederick's bosses hope one of the sexy designs will top the $18,000 (GBP9,000) which a garment created by Charlize Theron went for last year (06). Julianne Moore, who created a peacock-styled corset for the auction, is considering bidding: "I love them all and it's a great cause." The money raised will benefit children's charities.

Since when has the Philippines become a hotspot for concert gigs? The notion of some is that when your career is dead, do a concert in Manila and runaway with a paycheck, as easy as that. Filipinos are music lovers by nature, that's why they continue to support the endless concerts of has-beens and nobody's.

Although inarguably there has been a number of big artists to visit the country in the last decade, the number would even be less than a man's ten fingers (the list excludes Mariah Carey for she toured Manila when she was said to be in the lowest point of her career and Avril Lavigne). That seem to changed when one of the biggest pop stars in the world staged her top-grossing tour in Taguig. Christina Aguilera, the best of her generation is generally considered the biggest artist to stage Manila since Micheal Jackson some ten years ago. With a concert that filled an entire open field of some 30,000 audience, she's proven that the Philippines can be a good stop to big tours.

With the Beyonce Experience tour happening in weeks, it seems like there's a trend that has started since Christina's July event, several months after, another world famous artist is touring Manila. While the clock is ticking as Justin Timberlake stages his own in early 2008.
