Cech: Worst Season Of My Career Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech had a horrific season last year thanks to the serious head injury he suffered at Reading. But after his latest setback the Czech shotstopper says this campaign has been his absolute worst.
An accidental training ground clash with defender Tal Ben-Haim on Sunday left the goalkeeper requiring surgery and 50 stitches to a facial wound, something that could well put an end to Cech's season - for Chelsea at least.
揑t is really sad because I had recovered from my ankle injury and was back in training, getting ready for the Champions League match with Fenerbahce and then this new injury came - it is frustrating," said the 25-year-old.
揟his season has really been the worst ever for me but I believe I will not suffer any more injuries in the next few years. I collided with a team-mate while we were both going for the ball, my lower lip and chin were torn," Cech explained. 揑 did save the ball though as I never want to concede a goal!
This injury was just bad luck. I can speak and I can eat with the left side of my mouth, it doesn抰 limit me too much.
