Ah, during Shinhwa 10th year anniversary last spring, we made a promise with the fans and the members that
after everyone have done their military service, we will reunite and hold a concert in 4 years.

I抦 really grateful that so many people came even though they can only see me for a short while. Please wait for a little bit.
I can finally have some time for myself to think as a singer or as an actor. In the 10th year anniversary concert,
we have made a promise with all the fans and staff that we抮e going to reunite and have another concert in 4 years.

[08.10.08][news] Shinhwa members send Eric off with dinner gathering on 7th Oct
Ericand his fellow Shinhwa members had a small dinner gathering andcelebrated their friendship before he reports for military duty on 9thOct at the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam. Eric is the firstShinhwa member to enlist for military duty.
On the evening of7th Oct, Eric had dinner and some drinks with the other members beforebidding a temporary farewell to them, and they also gave him their bestwishes for him to come back safe and healthy.
A source close toEric said, "Eric met up with the other Shinhwa members prior to hisenlistment date, and they had a great time together."
Eric isnow resting at home and preparing for his enlistment tomorrow. Theother Shinhwa members will not be sending him off on the day itself.

[08.10.08][news] Eric enlists on 9th Oct but Shinhwa's 10-year friendship continues
Themuch-loved idol group that hasn't had a change of members in their10-year career - Shinhwa. Shinhwa's 6 members - Eric, Lee Minwoo, KimDongwan, Shin Hyesung, Junjin and Andy - have been showing theirimmaculate chemistry on stage for the past 10 years, and have all goneon to carve out successful solo careers as actors, singers andentertainers, a clear show of their successful "separate but together"strategy.
However, all 6 of them have or about to reach theKorean age of 30, and from the 2nd half of this year onwards fans willhave to temporarily bid farewell to Eric and Kim Dongwan for 2 yearswhile they serve their military duty, while Lee Minwoo, Shin Hyesung,Junjin and Andy will continue with their activities.
Shinhwa'sleader Eric will be reporting to the Chungnam Training Center in theafternoon of 9th Oct, and will undergo 5 weeks of basic militarytraining before being dispatched to serve in the civil service fromNovember onwards. As Eric is the first Shinhwa member to enlist, theother Shinhwa members are all planning to send him off personally as ashow of support.
Next on the list would be Kim Dongwan, whomentioned through a phonecall on MBC FM4U's "A Date With Park Myung Sooat 2" that he is scheduled to enlist in the 2nd week of November. Hismanagement company added that though he hasn't received thenotification letter for the exact date of enlistment, but he hasalready been informed by the military administrative department that hewill be receiving the notification in mid-November. Likewise, he willalso be serving in the civil service after completing his basicmilitary training stint.
The temporary void left behind by Eric and Kim Dongwan will be filled by the 4 remaining members who will still remain active.
LeeMinwoo has recently released his 4th album and is actively promotingthe title track Don't Trust Men through variety shows and performances.His activities will continue through the 2nd half of 2008.
ShinHyesung who released his 3rd album at the end of August will alsoremain active. Having recently been selected to sing the theme song forthe electronic game Tetris, he will also be kicking off his Asian tourwith a concert in Seoul on 18th Oct followed by Japan and China inNovember.
The new star of the variety world Junjin will continue with his appearances on MBC's Infinity Challenge and SBS' Yashimmanman 2.
Andy,the youngest of the group, has just ended his stint on MBC's We GotMarried, and will star in the musical version of Singles from 25th Octto mid-January 2009.
Even more active now than ever in theiractivities, Shinhwa lives on even with members preparing to enlist formilitary duty. Their friendship and group spirit will continue, andboth themselves and fans alike will look forward to the day whenShinhwa members all reunite for their next big event.

[08.10.09][news] Throngs of fans send Eric off to the army
More than 300 fans sent Eric (Mun Jung Hyuk, 28) off at the Nonsan Training Center before he reported for his 26-month military duty, including overseas fans from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan.
Having completed his last drama project KBS2's Strongest Chil Woo in August, Eric reported for service at Nonsan Training Center with fans who have gathered at the camp entrance up to 12 hours before. His status as a Hallyu star is clearly cemented, as fans from countries such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan all turned up to send him off before he goes into a 2-year long hiatus from showbiz.
Fans held up banners that bore messages such as "For 2 years we will wait for you everyday", "Our hearts will always be with you", and even "Darling you look good even with short hair, come back soon and we'll get married".
Having relinquished his US citizenship in 2003 for his showbiz career in Korea, Eric was initially supposed to be allocated for active duty, but an onset accident during the filming of MBC drama Wolf in 2006 saw his vocation being changed to a civil service officer instead.
When asked to do the symbolic army salute, he shyly declined. Eric's management company added that he will be deployed to Seoul Metro, although it's not clear which station it will be. Fans said in response that they hope to meet him at least once at the subway station, whichever it may be.
