Mancheste announce that it has agreed a new four year contract extension with Federico Macheda that will see him at the club until at least June 2014.
Sir Alex Ferguson said:
“We are delighted by the new four year deal, everyone at the club recognises the fantastic talent he has and we hope to see that develop in the next years, so he becomes a well rounded player”
Federico Macheda said:
“I am very happy to commit my future to Manchester United. I really enjoyed myself last season when I came on and I hope tr United is delighted too get more chances like that and contribute to the team’s success." |

Man Utd choose not to sign Serbian Ljajic
Manchester United have ended their interest in Adem Ljajic and decided not to take up the option to sign the Partizan Belgrade midfielder.
The Serbian midfielder won't join United.
The 18-year-old Serbian had been lined up for a potential move to Old Trafford next year. However United feel they have a wealth of talent in midfield and that their initial interest in Ljajic will not be followed up.
A club spokesman told their official website: ''We had an option to buy the player but, having closely monitored his development over past 12 months, and taken into the consideration the young players emerging through the ranks, we have chosen not to pursue the transfer.''

Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to return to Manchester United in the Champions League.
Ronaldo left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in an £80million summer switch and he could come up against his former team-mates as early as February.
United are through to the knockout stages while the Spanish giants are in pole position in their group with one game to go.
Ronaldo, 24, said: 'I don't want to play against Manchester. It will be a strange feeling if I play them. Mr Ferguson helped me a lot in my career.
'I was there six years and he taught me many things. I keep the same relationship with him. He's a good friend of mine. I still have the same friends.

But Tosic has flopped at United and will be allowed to leave next month, while Sir Alex Ferguson decided Ljajic was not worth such a huge fee and killed the deal.

Ben Foster is set to get his loan move wish and save his faltering bid for a World Cup spot.
Foster is keen to move in January, with Spurs showing interest, to fulfil Fabio Capello’s insistence that all his England players are first choice at their club.
But Alex Ferguson had previously refused to consider letting the United keeper switch clubs for six months to allow him regular first team football.
There has been a change of strategy at United in recent weeks though as Foster has not done enough to present Edwin van der Sar with a serious challenge for his jersey.
