Director Goo Hye Sun going to Japan

“Boys Over Flowers” heroine, author, and director Goo Hye-sun has been invited to the Yubari Fantastic Film Festival in Japan for her short film “The Madonna” (유쾌한 도우미, literally “The Cheerful Caretaker”).

For this year, the film is under “Yubari Choice: Korean Film.” The film festival will run from February 25th to March 1st at Hotel Shuparo in Yubari City. Goo Hye-sun will be Japan from the beginning of the festival until March 5th.

“The Madonna” has gained quite a number of favorable reviews and has been invited to a number of other film festivals, including the Pusan International Film Festival, the Bucheon International Film Festival, the Asiana International Short Film Festival, and the 3rd China Mobile Film Festival.

As her directing debut, Goo Hye-sun is off to a good start with “The Madonna,” a short film about a priest and nun who do mercy killings for those seeking salvation.

지난 1월에 있던 촬영장에 이어~
이번에 두번째로 다녀왔어~
This fan was an extra twice--once in January and again on Feb 21.
분위기 메이커 쿠감독의 열정적인 모습을 많이 보고 왔네그려~
Director Goo is a mood-maker and I saw so much of her focused passion
처음 갔을때 촬영장 분위기가 너무 훈훈해서~하루종일 힘든줄도 모르고 기분좋게 돌아왔었는데~
이번에도 마찬가지였지~
Thefirst time I went as an extra, the whole event was so comfortable andnice that I did not even feel any difficulty and it was the same thistime as well.
어쩌면 그렇게도 감독님들~배우분들~스탭분들이 누구하나 찡그리는 사람없이 웃는 얼굴인지~놀랄정도였어~
Iwas so touched and surprised by the fact that not a single person--allthe directors, the actors and the entire staff--ever looked upset orirritated. They were all smiling~
이번엔 기자회견이 있어서 쿠감독이 많이 바빴을거야~
This time Director Goo must have been very busy with the added press conference~
그리고 마지막 촬영이라 많이 아쉽기도 했을거고..
and, I am sure that she felt somewhat sad inside as it was the last day of filming,,,
이제 시사회만 기다리고 있네~ㅎㅎ
Now, we just have to wait for the day of premier~

Schedule in Japan

On Feb 28, 2010 from 1:35~1:50, GHS will be a guest at a Japanese program. (I think this must be at 1:35 AM since that article states that GHS is tonight's guest. (Also, in response to Lxandra's question about the schedule of screening of GHS' short film in Yubari---her movie may be screened at 11PM on the 26th and definitely at2PM on Feb. 28th.) Paraphrasing, the article states that GHS willappear in Fuji Tv's Cho Nan Gang 2 program and she will talk about hermovies and some behind the scene stories from BOF. The article alsogives a background information about her previous drama and sitcomachievements, her abilities as writer, composer, script-writer, actorand director. A true, multi-entertainer!
