Anda boleh mengupah orang menjaga anak anda, tetapi anda tidak boleh menghalang kebebasannya. Itulah amaran daripada pengasuh Alanis Morissette yang mengajukan tindakan undang-undang terhadap penyanyi itu.

Puncanya apabila wanita bernama Bianca Cambeiro itu mendakwa Alanis dan suami, Mario Treadway, menyuruhnya bekerja 12 jam sehari tanpa diberikan rehat secukupnya ketika menjaga bayi pasangan terbabit.
Bianca bekerja di kediaman penyanyi itu bermula Ogos 2011 hingga Mac 2013.

Menurut laporan dikemukakan, Alanis mengurungnya di dalam bilik bayi selain mengarahkannya tidak meninggalkan anak kecil itu walau sekejap pun, biarpun untuk makan.

Dia hanya dibenarkan berehat seketika ketika ibu bapa bayi itu berada dalam bilik atau selepas pengasuh sebelah siang menggantikannya.

Lebih teruk, Alanis tidak membayar upah kerja lebih masa serta elaun laun berjumlah RM90,000. Dia turut mengemukakan tindakan saman kira-kira RM300,000 kerana mendakwa menghadapi tekanan emosi.

Sehingga kini, pihak Alanis belum memberikan sebarang maklum balas.

Alanis Morissette Dituntut Pengasuh Bayi



Liputan6.com, Los Angeles : Seorang pengasuh bayi bernama Bianca Cambeiro menuntut haknya kepada artis dan penyanyi Alanis Morissette serta suaminya Mario 'Souleye' Treadway. Pasalnya mereka dituduh tak membayarkan gajinya selama Agustus 2011 sampai Maret 2013. Parahnya, Cambeiro juga mengeluh sering dipaksa bekerja selama 12 jam tanpa waktu istirahat.

Diberitakan TMZ, Jumat (29/8/2013), Cambeiro mengatakan bahwa dirinya dilarang keluar kamar si bayi selama shift bekerja, bahkan ketika sang bayi tertidur lelap. Termasuk untuk makan pun ia tak diizinkan. Wanita ini membenarkan bahwa ia hanya boleh keluar ketika Alanis dan suaminya berada di kamar itu atau jika ada seorang pengasuh lain yang menggantikannya.

Bianca Cambeiro bekerja dari pukul sembilan malam sampai pukul sembilan pagi. Ia harus datang tiga atau empat kali seminggu. Dalam kamar sang bayi, si pengasuh harus sigap dan tak boleh tertidur.

Menurut dokumen pengadilan di Los Angeles, Cambeiro menuntut pelunasan gaji yang belum dibayar sebanyak US$ 30 ribu atau setara dengan Rp 346 juta dan US$ 100 ribu atau setara dengan Rp 1 miliar untuk tekanan batin dan stres yang selama ini dirasakannya akibat ulah majikannya tersebut.

Pelantun Ironic ini melahirkan seorang bayi laki-laki pada Natal 2010. Alanis dan Mario menamainya Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway. Namun sampai berita ini diturunkan, penyanyi asal Kanada itu belum memberikan penjelasan apapun terkait kasus tersebut.(Ppt/Mer)

She oughta know! Alanis Morissette and husband Mario Treadway have been sued by their former nanny, Bianca Cambeiro, over allegations she wasn’t paid overtime or provided with rest breaks, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

According to the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Thursday, the nanny was hired to work for Morissette in 2011 to care for her son Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, born in 2010.

Cambeiro was the night nurse for the couple, and worked 9:00 pm until 9:00 am, three to four days a week, at $25 per hour.

The former employee contends she was never paid overtime and was denied rest and meal breaks daily, and also traveled with Morissette on tour and worked seven days in a row on seven different occasions.

Furthermore, the nanny was told Morissette’s son was never to be left alone while the child was sleeping, unless one of the parents were present, or the day nanny arrived to relieve Cambeiro.

In January 2012, the nannies asked Morissette’s accountant why they weren’t being paid overtime, and were told, “We don’t do that.”

Cambriero worked as the Grammy award-winning singer’s nanny until March 2013, and doesn’t specify if she quit or was fired.

The lawsuit seeks $100,000 in damages and $30,000 in unpaid wages.

Alanis Morissette: Nanny Sues for $130,000

Canadian singer Alanis Morissette is known for a lot of things. The “Ironic” singer is known for winning seven Grammy Awards, for her performance on Showtime’s hit series “Weeds” and for being an outspoken environmentalist. And, now, Alanis Morissette is about to be known as the mom who wouldn’t give her nanny a break.

Morissette and her husband Mario Treadway have been sued by their former nanny, Bianca Cambeiro. According to TMZ, Cambeiro’s situation with Morissette and her husband was something like a “hostage” situations at times, with Cambeiro being denied meal breaks and being forced to stay in the baby’s nursery.

The nanny was paid $25 per hour to watch after Morissette’s son, Ever, who was born in 2010. Cambeiro worked for Morissette and Treadway from March 2011 to August 2013. Cambeiro doesn’t say whether she was fired or quit in the lawsuit, but apparently there was no love lost between the nanny and her former employers.


Cambeiro is suing Morissette and Treadway for $130,000 for unpaid wages and emotional distress. $30,000 of the lawsuit is for overtime that Cambeiro said she wasn’t paid. According to the complaint, Cambeiro was “never, once, paid overtime, regardless of the schedule or hours she worked and was denied meal and rest breaks daily.”

The lawsuit also says that Cambeiro traveled with Morissette while on tour and had to work seven straight days on seven occasions. When Cambeiro said she and other nannies wanted to know why they weren’t paid overtime, Morissette’s accountant said, “We don’t do that.”

While Cambeiro’s allegations of no overtime wages sounds bad enough, she also says that she was confined to the baby’s nursery. She said that she was told by Morissette and Treadway that “she was prohibited from leaving the bedroom of the child she was supervising while the child was sleeping,” unless one of the defendants were in the room.

The plaintiff wants a trial by jury, and in addition to the $30,000 in lost wages, she also wants $100,00 for the mental distress she claims she suffered while caring for Morissette’s son. It’s hard to see Alanis Morissette as being so overbearing on her nanny, especially since she talked about how important it is to be relaxed in an interview earlier this month, but that’s exactly what the court documents say.
