Miley Cyrus has revealed she begged Justin Bieber to quit showbiz -following his total -public meltdown earlier this year.

Miley, 20, desperately wants 19-year-old Justin to move on after videos of him behaving erratically emerged in March.

She told the Sunday People : “I told Justin to take a bit of time out and people aren’t so obsessed with you and nit-pick.

“When you’re not around, all they want is your music. They want to see what the next thing is. But when your music is out they just want to talk s*** about you.

“When you’re a worldwide star, everyone sees everything. Lots of people make a video and put it on Instagram, some people might think it’s funny but because it’s Justin Bieber, it’s like really bad.

“I always tell him just to be cool and not talk about it because when you talk it fuels the fire. He’s still stupid though. But everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up.”

Miley, who is promoting her first single in the UK, We Can’t Stop, which is out on August 4, also broke her silence on critics who have accused her of losing too much weight.

She is said to have shed more than a stone since her rumoured split from Liam Hemsworth – but puts it down to healthy eating.

Speaking at London’s Soho Hotel, she said: “All I do is work so I eat to keep me going.

“I’m always on the road so I eat healthily as I have to give my body what it needs. If you don’t you will crash and burn.

“The s***** part about my travels is that I don’t get to work out. I do yoga and ten salutes to the sun every day then I do 30 push ups, I try to do quick things – not to stay in shape but to get my mind right.”

The video to her new hit had to be toned down because she was “spanking” someone in it. So what does her daddy, Billy Ray with the Achy Breaky Heart, think?

“In my video I am getting spanked. In the original I was spanking too but you guys made me take it out. They said no gyrating. Dad doesn’t care, he is famous for shaking his a*** too.”

There is no question her Disney days are behind her.
