Bakaye Traore signs for AC Milan
Nancy have confirmed that the Mali international midfielder will leave the Ligue 1 club on a free transfer in June and will ply his trade at San Siro next season
By Luis Mira
Nancy have announced on their official website that Bakaye Traore will join AC Milan in the summer. The Mali international penned a three-year contract with the Rossoneri, who will secure the player on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.Traore had already announced the move on Tuesday, speaking of his delight to have signed for the Serie A side.
The 27-year-old, who had also been linked with Newcastle and Olympique de Marseille, reached an agreement with Milan in mid-April, but waited for the club to secure their Ligue 1 status before announcing the switch.
Traore has been at Nancy since 2009, when he joined the club from Ligue 2 outfit Amiens. |

Pardew Fears Stars May Be Sold
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew claims it may be impossible to hang on to some of his team’s stars after reports of interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.
The Magpies are challenging for a Champions League spot going into the final round of games on Sunday but have found themselves increasingly linked with interest from some of Europe’s top sides. Reports this week linked Real Madrid with Papiss Demba Cisse and both Juventus and Inter Milan have been watching Hatem Ben Arfa and Cheick Tiote. Chelsea have been linked with both Tiote and keeper Tim Krul.
“It’s impossible to restrict Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City from coming in for one of our players,” Pardew told BBC Newcastle.
“We have players who are not on the salaries these top clubs can offer.”
Demba Ba is another player linked with a departure after rumours of a release clause in his contract which could see him leave for less than £7million.
“It is not a foregone conclusion that he will stay, but the Newcastle public have played their part singing his name. He must love that.”
Pardew has built a potential top four side on the back of the £35million he received from Liverpool for striker Andy Carroll just over a year ago and the £10million proceeds last summer from the sale of Jose Enrique and Kevin Nolan and he says he may have to do the same in order to strengthen his side.
“Forget about Everton and Aston Villa, we have put ourselves in a similar position to Arsenal,” he added.
“The one security I have is that Mike Ashley is a difficult seller. He is not going to let someone go for £7million, he is going to want top, top money, but if Yohan Cabaye gets a call from Manchester United and they tell him he is going to be the next Paul Scholes I am not going to be able to stop him.
“It is going to cost Manchester United a shed-load of money, but until we have Champions League football, and we might have that by this weekend, we cannot compete with that.”
In recent weeks Newcastle have been linked with Ajax defenders Jan Vertonghen and Siem de Jong, Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci and FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong and his team-mate centre-back Douglas and Pardew says his priority this summer is a centre-back who can head the ball.
“I am contemplating bringing in someone because we don’t have a dominant header of the ball. On the scouting front we are looking at a centre-half who can come and score us eight goals next season,” he added.
“If we didn’t have Demba Ba we wouldn’t have Papiss Cisse and we are trying to bring another player to the club who is close to Yohan Cabaye. That is another little connection and a bit of a clue for you.”
Cabaye moved from Lille last summer and the Magpies have been linked with interest in Lille playmaker Eden Hazard although he looks set to move to Manchester City this summer. |

MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS AND RUMOURS SATURDAY 12 MAY

Lazio Linked With Berbatov Bid
Serie A side Lazio are being linked with Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports that talks have already taken place between Berbatov’s agent, Emil Danchev, and Claudio Lotito, president of the Italian club.
Danchev said on Friday that Berbatov is likely to move abroad if he leaves United, dashing the hopes of Fulham and QPR, both of whom have been linked with the 31-year-old Bulgarian.
“He would like to try a new challenge in another league,” said Danchev. “It has been a frustrating season and now he just wants to play football.”
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists he wants to realise Berbatov’s full value and is expected to demand around £8million for the striker who is also being linked with interest from German clubs Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. |

Ivanovic Is Real Target
Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is being linked with a £15million summer bid from Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail reports today that Real coach Jose Mourinho wants the Serb to strengthen his defence and the fact that Ivanovic can play just about anywhere across the back four makes him all the more attractive to the former Chelsea boss.
Another former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho looks set to quit the Bernabeu this summer and Mourinho wants to replace him with the 28-year-old Ivanovic having also considered Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen.
The Mail’s report claims that Real will bid £15million for Ivanovic but Spanish newspaper Marca claims the Blues will demand 25million euro (£20million), a sum which Real president Florentino Perez may find prohibitive given that he spent 30million euro last summer on defender Fabio Coentrao. However, Marca adds that informal negotiations took place between the two clubs last April and it adds that the Blues would be prepared to listen to offers provided the price is right.
Chelsea paid £9.7million for Ivanovic when they signed him from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008 |

Official: Al Sadd announce signing of Raul
The 34-year-old has ended the speculation surrounding his future after penning a one-year deal with the Qatari outfit and following in the footsteps of Fernando Hierro
Al Sadd have confirmed the signing of Raul on a free transfer from the start of the 2012-13 season.
The former Spain forward is set to depart Schalke after two years in Germany since his release from the Spanish capital, but the identity of his next team was previously unknown.
However, Al Sadd have now announced on their official website that the decorated 34-year-old will arrive on Qatari shores prior to the beginning of the new campaign.
Raul made his name at Real Madrid after making his debut in 1994, before going on to win six Liga titles and a hat-trick of Champions League crowns.
He also became Los Blancos' all-time top scorer with 323 goals over a 16-year spell but joined Schalke two summers ago.
The attacker was also a success in Gelsenkirchen, despite his advancing years, netting a further 40 times, but revealed the current campaign would be his last for the Royal Blues, which ended in the side retiring the No.7 shirt that he had worn.
Raul has scored 71 Champions League goals, ensuring legendary status. |

Redknapp hopeful of Adebayor deal
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has reiterated his desire to retain the services of Emmanuel Adebayor, but feels Manchester City will have to play ball for a deal to happen.
Adebayor joined Spurs on a season-long loan last summer and has made a positive impression at White Hart Lane. The forward is due to head back to City after Sunday's final game of the season, but he is likely to be surplus to requirements at Eastlands.
Redknapp would be happy to call on Adebayor next term, but requires the help and negotiating skills of chairman Daniel Levy to make it happen.
"We love him here," Redknapp said of Adebayor. "He's been great for us.
"Only the chairman can deal with that one. He can deal with the financial situation. His (Adebayor's) wages would be a big problem. But if Daniel can pull off a deal with City like last year, we would love to have him here." |

Shinji Kagawa in Manchester for Man Utd talks
Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa is in Manchester today.
Kicker says the Japan international, who has rejected a new contract offer from Dortmund, hopped onto a Manchester-bound plane last night.
Kagawa has already declared he expects to sign for Manchester United.
Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp admits they were always fighting a losing battle: "You have to understand Shinji's environment. In Japan we don't have a profile. It's all about the Premier League and therefore that's where Shinji wants to play."

QPR sign Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United
The South Korea international midfielder has signed a two-year deal with Mark Hughes' side after spending seven distinguished years with the Old Trafford outfit
The South Korea international has signed a two-year deal with Mark Hughes' side who, as Goal.com reported, have paid in the region of £2.5 million for the 31-year-old and will also part with a further £2.5m should they avoid relegation next season.
Park moves to Loftus Road after spending seven trophy-laden years at Old Trafford, and admitted the offer from QPR was too good to turn down.
"QPR is a club with huge history and tradition, and a great ambition to achieve at the very highest level," he told the club's official website.
"Tony Fernandes and the board are striving to accomplish big things at QPR and I wanted to be part of that. This project was simply too good to resist, and I am excited about getting started in pre-season and going on our tour to Asia in the coming days.
"I am joining a club that is very much on an upwards curve - a club that has a very bright future. The infrastructure is in place, with a new training ground and plans for a new stadium, for us to achieve in the short and long term.
"The manager has a proven track record at Premier League level and I am looking forward to working with him and the rest of the squad to help take this club to the next level."
QPR boss Hughes also described Park as a "huge signing" for the club and believes that the midfielder's experience in high-profile matches will have a big impact next term.
"We are delighted Ji is going to join us because his record speaks for itself. He has been a big player for Manchester United and played a big part in their success in recent years," said the manager, himself a former Red Devils player.
"He is hugely respected there because of what he has achieved, his application to his work and the impact he has on games. This is a huge signing for this football club.
"He was always picked for the big matches because they could rely on him, and we are going to reap all those qualities.
"I think it is fair to say Ji has been attracted not by where QPR are, but where QPR are going. We were able to show him where we feel the club is heading and he embraced it.
"He felt this was a good option for him and after giving seven great years to United he wanted a new challenge. He sees QPR as very much a club on the up and wants to be part of something that is going to be very special." |

Park Ji-Sung Sah Sertai QPR
Park Ji-Sung
"Rekod beliau menceritakan tentang kehebatannya," kata Hughes.
"Saya inginkan mimpi menjadi kenyataan," katanya.
