it got to do with the condition of one's soul . A soul can be clean or dirty , it's degree depends on the multitude of one's own sin, just like the surface of a mirror , when its dirty all over no images can be seen in it , the same with one's soul . So when sins totally cover one's soul , God's light ( hidayah) will not be able to penetrate the soul , it then experiences a total black out , due to that it can only sense darkness, rendering it senseless . The sins have managed to totally suppress any moral realization , awareness or desire to be good that lingered before in the soul , and the mind starts to crave for all kind of evil doings , even addicted to it .
Thats why serial killers , rapists , robbers etc dont feel anything everytime they go about killing , raping , robbing their victims , some even feel teruja, business as usual for them

Yeah...
someone recommend me the book scott m pecker, the people of the lies?
it says that 85% of people are non integrous. Which basically means they have the victim/perpetrator mentalities. Some reason that since they are treated unfairly, it's only fair that they do bad thing to others. |

An interesting opinion this........Just does not explain how come a sinful person may still find the realization to seek forgiveness.......
Personally, am of the understanding that the soul, the essence of the person is that that sets how the person feel and behave, amongs other things. Its the mental state(consciou & subconscious)/non physical aspect of the person which manifests in the physical behaviour of the person.
The mind, to me is always in a state of flux............it may change with new knowledge, experience and understanding. It would be meaningless to assume that once a person sins, he has lesser hope of redeeming himself.
