Synopsis
This is the story of two women, Seo Jung Eun and Han Yoo Kyung, who walk very different paths to achieve their desires. Seo Jung Eun is a strong and courageous woman who has suffered a difficult life, having grown up in an orphanage, but continues to embrace people around her despite longing for affection herself. Jung Eun harbours the hope that she will meet her mother if she becomes a star, striving to reach her goal and overcome her suffering with her pure and innocent nature. In contrast, Han Yoo Kyung has a birth secret for which she is willing to throw away everything in order to get revenge. The “thorn birds” of the title refers to Jung Eun’s character, who only brings out her best at the cost of great pain. A thorn bird is a mythical bird who searches for a thorn tree from the day it is born. When it finds it, the bird impales itself upon the sharpest thorn, and rises above the agony to sing the most beautiful song ever heard.

Actor Seo Do Young said that he is planning to donate all the money he receives for acting in “Thorn Bush Birds” to the Japanese tsunami relief fund.
He revealed this plan at the public filming of “Thorn Bush Birds.”
He said “I thought that I can make people happier by providing actual help instead of a fanmeet.”
“I was planning on changing my car with the work I’m doing now but I wanted to use the money in a more fulfilling way.”

On the new drama “The Thorn Birds,” Han Yoo Kyung (Kim Min Jung) is seducing movie producer Lee Young Jo (Joo Sang Wook). This is after she finds out that he is the son of a millionaire and the person that her friend Jung Eun (Han Hye Jin) likes.
Even though the two of them had to film the kiss scene when they were still awkward with each other but they handled it like professionals. Apart from one NG cut because of them laughing after seeing their reflections on the window, they were able to get the OK on the next shot. This was the scene that brought them closer.
At the press conference for “The Thorn Birds,” Joo Sang Wook said “After our kiss scene, the awkwardness disappeared.”
The staff said “The kiss scene is the first time that Kim Min Jung’s dark side surfaces and it is the start of the triangle romance in the drama. The scene will make the audiences’ hearts beat.”
The overall story of “The Thorn Birds” is about actress Seo Jung Eun who wants to become big through movies and movie director Han Yoo Kyung and how they untangle the thread that keeps them intertwined.

Actress Han Hye Jin talked about how she could have been a member of the popular girl group, Fin.K.L.
She came out on KBS2 "Happy Together" on the 24th and told a story about how she was offered the position to be a member of Fin.K.L.
She said "I was told to audition for Fin.K.L, since I was a good candidate but I was a bit too arrogant. I said 'I want to be an actress' and rejected the offer."
She continued, "I rejected and then Fin.K.L came out soon and they were a big hit, so I was somewhat sad."
Han Hye Jin also talked about how she graduated from the same school in the same year as actress Song Hye Gyo, and 1 year apart from Lee Jin.
Han Hye Jin came out with the cast of the new drama "The Thorn Birds," Kim Min Jung and Joo Sang Wook to promote the drama.

The newest episode of “Thorn Birds” showed a scene where young Han Yoo Kyung gets taken by male students and gets harassed. One of the students was shown trying to rip off her outer jacket, making the viewers feel uncomfortable.
Netizens wrote “Isn’t it too much for a drama on national TV?” “it was embarrassing to watch with the family” “Next time, try to soften it down a little.”
The episode only got 5.9% viewer ratings, showing a slow start for the drama. |
