Childcare centres must register with Welfare

JOHOR BARU: All childcare centres in the state must register with the Johor Welfare Department.

Its director Nik Omar Nik Ab Rahman said the amended Child Care Centre Act 1984 made it compulsory for these centres to be registered.

He said this was to prevent negligence and to ensure children at the centres were well taken care of.

This would also make it easier for the department to update operators on any new rulings and information.

揟he bill had been passed in Parliament last year and we are still in the midst of passing on the message to operators of the centres.

揝o far, 248 centres in Johor have already registered,
