A local woman dubbed “toyol of the toilets” due to her skill in stealing women’s handbags in toilets around Kuala Lumpur has been caught, reported Harian Metro.
The woman, 45, would pretend to be using the toilet before stealing the targeted handbag. She would then quickly leave without the victim even realising that her handbag had been filched.
She was caught by the police after trying to flee with a woman’s handbag at a public restroom around the Masjid Negara area.
Police said the victim had entered the toilet at around 11am on Tuesday and was inside no more than a minute when she realised her handbag was missing.
Police officers patrolling the area found her crying and stepped in to intervene.
