A three-day mourning period has been announced in the UAE after the son of Dubai's ruler died of a heart attack.
Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who graduated from Sandhurst in 2002, died on Saturday morning.
The 33-year-old was the eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the ruler of Dubai and also the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
Flags at government departments and institutions flying at half mast as a mark of respect.
'Today, I lost a best friend and a childhood companion, my dear brother Rashid,' said his brother Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai. 'You will be missed.'
President Sheikh Khalifa expressed condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the Al Maktoum family.
There will be prayers at Zabeel mosque on Saturday evening and he will then be buried in Umm Harir cemetery in Bur Dubai.
'God bless the deceased young man ... We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,' the Court of the Ruler of Dubai said.
Work at Dubai government entities is continuing as usual, according to the Dubai Media Office.

kan. athlete pulak tu dia ni. bukan jenis makan tdo badan besar.
btw, kalau dia eldest son, kenapa adik dia yg crown prince? system dubai tak ikot birth right ye? |

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, on Friday named his second son crown prince, anointing Hamdan bin Mohammed as the man most likely to succeed him as the head of state of the trade, tourism and services hub.
The move will ease concerns that an unclear succession posed a risk to this tolerant business centre, which is riding the region’s wave of petrodollars.
Sheikh Mohammed, who is popular among many of Dubai’s expatriates, has over the past few years been grooming 25-year-old Hamdan, currently chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the emirate’s inner cabinet. Sheikh Mohammed’s eldest son, Rashid, does not have a government role.

I ada bca mungkin dr lifestyle dia drug addict and might be drug overdose. Thats why ayah dia hide his limelight from public dan heols ada kaitan dgn pembunuhan- sumber wikileaks. Mcm2 cerita pulak yer. Apapun sgt muda usia dia meninggal. |
