Seph Lawless is a living legend among urban explorers delving into abandoned places. Seph runs afoul of the law on a regular basis, with frequent citations for trespassing, breaking and entering, and even vandalism of buildings that are lying abandoned, empty, decaying. Seph Lawless is not even himself. He operates under a pseudonym to hide his identity to keep legal actions at bay. His works have become a massive hit on social networks like Instagram and Facebook, with support from celebrities like Rihanna. Is Seph’s work, including his book “Autopsy of America” really acts of crime, or a study in the history and current state of our nation? Is it the work of an investigative reporter with intense curiosity, or a vagabond looking for adventure.

Seph has been arrested over 50 times, but instead of seeking notoriety and fame, he prefers to be an unknown face. He tries to reduce the number of people who follow in his footsteps by being brutally honest about the dangers and issue they will face. An example of the dangers surface in 2013, when one of his supporters and imitators, Sarai Sierra, disappeared from view while exploring abandoned buildings in Istanbul, Turkey. Her body was found in February. She had been brutally stabbed to death as she was uploading images to Instagram.

Seph considers his work more than a simple adventure. He goes out to explore the decay and desecration caused by our society and bring it to the surface. DERELICT DOMINO SUGAR MILL COMPLETELY ABANDONED - BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.

THE UNDERWATER CITY – SHICHENG, CHINA

THE HOLY LAND PARK USA – WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT

This was a bible centered amusement part. In the 1960s and 70s, this park received more then 40,000 visitors per year. It closed in 1984, and what you see now is the remains of what was.

WILLARD ASYLUM – WILLARD, NEW YORK.

This structure was built and opened in 1869 then later closed in 1995. It housed over 4000 patients at high times of the year. The sad part is that more then half of the 50,000 patients that lived here died a frightening death. Creepy.
