From Switzerland to Liechtenstein: On the road with clouds

The Principality of Liechtenstein - isolated country. Specifically go into it to see sense no more. There's no ancient cities with paved streets, not some special razvlekuhi like "Disneyland". Liechtenstein attracts primarily for its modest size of the country - 8 to 20 kilometers. The temptation is to see the whole state in half a day. Therefore, travelers usually combine it with a visit to Austria or Switzerland. Especially, the only way to get there - it's highway.
Well, or walking through the Alps from Austria

Even in school, geography lessons, I wanted to visit this country, with such a complex and beautiful name. Therefore, when the question arose, to do or not to make a detour of 250 kilometers instead of the direct route Zurich Schaffhausen (52 km), it immediately and disappeared.

But go directly to the story of Liechtenstein, throwing photos picturesque way there would be a crime on my part

Here it is, Switzerland and the Alps, from the car

This way - the heaviest for the entire trip. But try it for yourself to drive a car to admire the beauty and periodically photograph

Switzerland - a country tunnels. It begins to understand when Journeying consecutive 5-6 holes in the rocks 800 meters each.

Some length - is miles.

In between dungeons outside flies that are called pastoral.

Clouds here periodically descend from the mountains to the level of the road, as if flirting with the drivers.

Calming image complement whether streams, whether already waterfalls flowing from melting glaciers prialpiyskih vertices.
In the mouth at this point is clearly felt the taste of mouth-watering milk chocolate "Alpen Gold" - advertising is doing its job.

We pass the town Sargans, to whom he gave the name of this castle here. Extended version of the name came from the German Saar and Gans, ie "Goose of the Saar." According to legend, the city was named originally from the German Saarland who met geese swimming near the shore of the Rhine flowing here.

And on the horizon, which is unusual here is close, there are houses our goal - a mini-country Liechtenstein.

Will only turn right, cross the bridge and Rhine ...

Dreams come true ... - I'm in Liechtenstein

Probably would have to pass through all principality, but ahead of us waiting for new adventures and a long road to Offenburg -
limited its capital, the city of Vaduz.

Vaduz impression of a modern city, the architecture is harmoniously blended with ancient buildings
princely castle, the cathedral and a few houses of that era.

Cathedral traditionally indoor scaffolding from us:

It should be noted that Liechtenstein - a young state. Its history, it is only since the early 18th century.
In Russia at that time were in full swing Peter's reforms.

These mountains - Swiss. State sandwiched on both sides by their patrons - Austria and Switzerland .

It is interesting that along with Uzbekistan, Liechtenstein is one of two countries in the world to get out of the world's oceans which must cross two borders.

From above, the events in the city and the country, from the window of his office in the castle watching Prince von und zu Liechtenstein, Duke of Troppau and Egerndorf, Count Rietberg.

His name is Johannes Adam Ferdinand Alois Josef Maria Marko d'Aviano Pius von und zu Liechtenstein.
And not a word shorter - offended .

Imagine walking a young Johan in the city, and his mother called him from the window of the castle, "Johannes Adam Ferdinand Alois Josef Maria Marko d'Aviano Pius von und zu Liechtenstein, go eat!"

And he runs ....

Now Prince is almost 70 years old. And 10 years ago, almost all his absolute power he gave his 45-year-old son, whose name is Alois Philipp Maria of Liechtenstein.

Duke likes its citizens. Perhaps that is why Liechtenstein - a prosperous country with high living standards, unemployment and zero second line after Qatar's GDP per capita.

And in Liechtenstein has no army. There are only 120 police officers who guard the peace and citizens.

Significant source of income and treasury is foreign tourism, dentures, as well as issuance of postage stamps.

Stamps are everywhere - except on their forehead you do not glue.

You can walk into any souvenir shop and buy yourself a pair of memory.

If only the toad not suffocate to pay for a set of Soviet stamps 30 euros.

And, judging from what countries are represented on stamps, Liechtenstein is the world's premier postman.

Liechtenstein - it's a heart attack for the philatelist. By brands go here even feet.

The proximity of Switzerland felt here on "Rolex" in the garbage bin - it is in order.

And in the shop where I took Black Forest cuckoo clock. Although tourists from all want navezti can.

Informal language Liechtenstein - Russian. At least, I have another on the street and did not hear the speech. Someone loudly indignant because of high prices for souvenirs, someone loudly fotkay in Vaduz strange horses.

These guys, for example, also from Russia Looks like came through Austria.

Retired from China (or Korea) photographed against the backdrop of Government House:

The area in front with stone pleasant sandy color.

Such a warm color.

Garden of small stones and small trees in the square in front of the house of government:

The trees are so tall, because I sat down.

Secret Fountain:

Where is the fountain?

But inside this piece of iron fountain.

Bus - the main form of public transport Liechtenstein. Carport countries account for 19 buses with petrol engines and 27 - with diesel. In addition to urban transport there is a bus connection to the neighboring countries - Switzerland and Austria.

The main symbol of the city, and then there is penny wise, the whole country - Vaduz Castle - the official residence of Prince.

The prince's castle can be seen from any part of the city. In turn, the prince can see everything ...

And even more than ordinary citizens ...

In the next part podedem closer to the castle and see the breathtaking scenery of the Rhine Valley, the Alps, Switzerland and most of Vaduz.
