Minister: Using Interpol database may have slowed immigration checks

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 ― Malaysia’s immigration authorities had skipped checks against an international database of stolen and lost passports as it could have slowed down clearance of passengers, Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.

Zahid, who was commenting on two Iranians who had managed to board the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 using stolen passports, said the country’s immigration’s equipment could not handle the massive global database of 40.2 million lost passports.

“In this case, information shows 40.2 million lost passports (information) were kept by Interpol, a figure that is too large. Malaysia’s immigration department’s database management system does not have the capability to keep it based on the existing capacity.

“Furthermore, Interpol’s information of lost (passports) may slow down the process of immigration’s check at counters,” Zahid told Parliament in his winding up speech on the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s royal address.
But Zahid said Malaysia’s immigration would be able to easily screen through and monitor passengers entering and exiting the country based on the names in the International Criminal Police Organisation’s (Interpol) Suspect List.

Interpol had actually handed the Stolen and Lost Travel Documents (SLTD) database to the police force in a disc, Zahid said after pointing out the difficulties in checking it.
Today, Zahid maintained that the country's immigration department had matched “world standards” when carrying out border control, pointing out that its officers were highly trained.

He said immigration officers guarding Malaysia's entry points were trained by other countries including the US, UK, Australia and Canada to carry out profiling and detect false travel documents.
Any suspicions would prompt a second check through a Document Examination Centre (DEC), with a special lab at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) used by the immigration authorities to check dubious documents since 2007.

All DEC officers are trained and recognised by international agencies, he said.

But the two Iranians had failed to set off alarms during immigration checks, with Zahid detailing how KLIA officers had approved the duo's entry and exit despite following standard operating procedures.
Zahid said local immigration records showed that the duo had entered the country for the first time, indicating that they would not have managed to evade detection if they were re-entering the country using false identities.
He said the stolen passports used by the duo were genuine documents, but also pointed out that passports issued by some countries lacked security features such as biometrics and barcodes.
But Zahid also said the lack of such features in passports of foreign visitors could be addressed with the use of Advance Passenger Clearing System.
In Parliament today, Zahid listed the chronological account of how the two Iranians travelled from their home country to Doha, Qatar and then Phuket, Thailand where they bought the stolen passports believed to be priced at US$10,000 (RM32,938) each.
He confirmed that the two left Thailand and entered Malaysia using the stolen passports.
But he repeated the probe’s conclusion that both Iran nationals were neither “criminals” nor “terrorists”.
The discovery of the two Iranian passengers had deepened the mystery surrounding the disappearance of MH370, with a multinational search for the plane and the 239 passengers on board now in its 19th day.

Malaysian GP to hold minute's silence for MH370

Malaysian Grand Prix organisers will hold a minute's silence before this weekend's race as a mark of respect for victims of the MH370 plane disaster, a senior official told AFP on Wednesday.
Teams and spectators will fall quiet just before Sunday's Formula One grand prix to honour the 239 people who were on board the Malaysia Airlines jet when it disappeared on March 8.
"There will be a tribute planned on Sunday, there will be a minute's silence before the race starts," said Dato Razlan Razali, CEO of the Sepang circuit.
"The Formula One fraternity recognises and sympathises with what we're all going through," he added.
Malaysia's biggest annual sporting event has scaled back its usual celebrations, calling off a concert by Christina Aguilera and Rain and toning down its advertising as the nation mourns.
On Sunday, Formula One teams and drivers are expected to pay tribute to the victims with messages on their car livery and helmets, while fans will be able to write messages on a tribute wall.
International teams are still searching for wreckage from the plane, which is believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean.

Chinese stars lash out at Malaysia on social media

BEIJING — Chinese celebrities, including award-winning actress Zhang Ziyi, have taken to social media to express their anger against what they see as Malaysian incompetence in finding the missing MH370 plane, the China Daily reported.

Ms Zhang is among big-name Chinese entertainment stars such as singer-actor Chen Kun who have in the past few days posted angry comments on Sina Weibo, China’s popular Twitter-like micro-blogging service, accusing Malaysia of mishandling the crisis.

“Malaysian government, you are wrong not to revere life. You are wrong not to respect the universal quest for truth,” the actress, who is known for her starring roles in Hollywood hits such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, wrote on her Weibo.

Her boyfriend, musician Wang Feng forwarded the post to his followers in a show of support for her outrage towards the Malaysian government.

The Chinese government has piled on pressure on Malaysia in recent weeks amid frustration from the families who staged a protest near the Malaysian Embassy on Tuesday. Among the flight’s 227 passengers, 153 were Chinese nationals.

Meanwhile, Chen Kun, who has 72 million Weibo followers, vowed a boycott of all commercial products and tourism related to Malaysia. “Not just for the brief moment when the missing plane is in the heat of attention, but indefinitely,” he posted. In less than a day, his posting was shared more than 70,000 times.

The postings reflected much of the emotional reaction online, where some have called for a boycott of Malaysian artistes such as Fish Leong, Lee Sinje and Ah Niu.

However, not all Chinese Internet users agreed with the Malaysia backlash. One Weibo user retorted: “Malaysia is nice — I stayed there for a week in 2007 and had a pleasant memory of the place.

“To boycott the airline because of the incident is like to stop eating after choking on food.” Agencies

Flight jitters hit some S'poreans

SOME Singaporeans have got the jitters after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370's disappearance and are changing their travel plans.

Assistant general manager of Super Travels, Mr Larry Seah, said his agency has seen a 20 per cent drop in inquiries for tours to China.

"There's a psychological fear that flying along the same route might not be a good idea," said Mr Seah. "I think when such a big disaster happens there is always the fear factor."

Meanwhile, Ms Zheng Ling Na, assistant marketing manager at Travel Star, said at least 10 per cent more outbound customers now choose to fly using Singapore Airlines instead of budget carriers.

"I suspect it's because SQ has a reputation for being safe," said Ms Zheng.

This comes amid reports that a major Chinese tour operator has suspended new bookings with Malaysia Airlines and rebooked current itineraries with other carriers.

Chinese travel agents have also reported significant drops in bookings between China and Malaysia.

Local agency Dynasty Travel has observed a 50 per cent fall in inquiries from Chinese tourists intending to visit Singapore, to just 10 a week.

"But my guess is that it is short-term and that we would likely see a full recovery in about three months," said Ms Alicia Seah, the agency's director of marketing and communications.

Australia: Search site shifted due to new lead
The search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 enters its 21st day today, amid foul weather that has grounded search aircraft in Perth since yesterday.

The severe weather - which includes heavy turbulence and ‘near zero visibility’ - is expected to end only at about noon today, but six ships have remained in the search area to keeping looking for signs of the missing aircraft.

This comes as both Thailand and Japan add to the growing list of countries whose satellites have picked up objects floating at sea near the vicinity of the search radius, hopefully debris from Flight MH370.

Searchers scouring the ocean have about a week to find the aircraft and its black box before the task is made more difficult when its ‘pinger’ runs out of batteries, and about a month before winter ushers in even worse weather including waves up to 15 metres high.

MAS: Think of families before speculating

11.15am: MAS urges the public to consider the affect on the families of those onboard Flight MH370 when speculating about the issue.

“Their anguish and distress increase with each passing day, with each fresh rumour, and with each false or misleading report,” says MAS chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya in a statement, amidst speculation that the aircraft had been hijacked by one of the pilots.

He also pledged to give what information it can, but points out that MAS’ ability to do so is constrained by ongoing investigations.

Searchers fight fatigue as search drags on

10am: Resting on their elbows, eyes darting about and with a binoculars within arm’s reach, spotters on aircraft are battling fatigue as they comb the vast Indian Ocean for signs of MH370.

"It is incredibly fatiguing work," says Flight Lt Stephen Graham, who serves as the tactical coordinator for the Royal New Zealand Air Force P-3 Orion crew that is involved in the search.

“The P-3 has a lot of really advanced sensors and they're really useful in our other roles, but for search and rescue, when you can't guarantee a large or a metallic target, vision is the best that you've got,” he says in an article published by the AP.

The report describes the monotony of the search, and crew members such as Graham undergo over a year of training in spotting techniques, including techniques for overcoming fatigue.

He remains optimistic, however, despite the vastness of the search area, saying, “You might be looking for a single canoe in the vastness of the Pacific and we do find them. So there is always hope.

Radar analysis shows 'plane was flying faster'

9.29am: Amsa announces that search area will shift 1,100kilometre northeast of the current search radius to account for the “latest credible lead” provided by the international investigation team in Malaysia.

That means search teams will now cover 319,000 square kilometres some 1,850kilometres west of Perth.

“The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB)... has examined this advice (by team in Malaysia) and determined that this is the most credible lead to where debris may be located,” it says in a statement.

Amsa adds that continuing analysis of radar data between the South China Sea and the Straits of Malacca before radar contact was lost, “indicates the aircraft was travelling faster than previously estimated, resulting in increased fuel usage and reducing the possible distance the aircraft travelled south into the Indian Ocean”.

Meanwhile, the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation is re-tasking satellites to image the new area.

It also reports improved weather, with 10 aircraft tasked for today’s search.

Six satellite sightings to date

9am: To recap, Japan and Thailand have separately announced new sightings of suspected debris yesterday near where MH370 is believed to have crashed, via their own satellites. They found 300 objects and 10 objects respectively.

This is in addition to several earlier sightings made by other countries hundreds of kilometres apart, namely Australia, China, France, and Malaysia – sometimes by analysing satellites images taken by a third party.

However, to date none of these suspected debris have been recovered for confirmation whether it is related to MH370, which is a vital step towards narrowing down the search area.

It is only after the search area is narrowed down when sophisticated equipment such as pinger locators can be brought in to begin its slow, methodical search for the aircraft’s black box, and hopefully answers to the MH370 mystery.

'Must get initial location right'

8.20am: The US Navy says is sending a second P-8 Poseidon aircraft to Perth today to join the search for MH370, while its P-3 Orion aircraft that has previously searched the Northern Indian Ocean is being recalled to its base in Okinawa, Japan.

In a statement released just after midnight today, it says the severe weather in the search area makes the addition of this all-weather aircraft ‘especially valuable’.

"It's critical to continue searching for debris so we can reverse-forecast the wind, current and sea state since March 8 to recreate the position where MH370 possibly went into the water.

“We've got to get this initial position right prior to deploying the Towed Pinger Locator since the MH370's black box has a limited battery life and we can't afford to lose time searching in the wrong area," says US 7th Fleet oceanographer Tom Moneymaker.

Search resumes to find possible debris

8am: The Australian Maritime and Safety Authority (Amsa) confirms today’s search efforts are back on track at the south Indian Ocean.

Ten aircraft will depart for the search area from Perth in stages, starting with a Chinese Il-76 aircraft (left). The last departure will be at about 2pm Malaysian time, for a US Navy P-8 Poseidon and a Japanese P-3 Orion.

It takes about four hours to fly to the search area from Perth.

Operations were hampered by severe weather yesterday, forcing planes to withdraw, while search ships remain in an attempt to locate one of hundreds of debris sighted by various satellites and those spotted by air surveillance over the course of the past few days.

Background:

• The Beijing-bound Boeing 777-200ER aircraft went missing not long after taking off from KL International Airport in the early hours of March 8, with 12 crew members and 227 passengers.
• Authorities have determined the plane intentionally made a turn-back and altered its course shortly after cutting communications with tower controllers for unknown reasons.
• Its whereabouts is now narrowed to the southern Indian Ocean after employing a "new analysis" method to deduce the location based on six pings the aircraft sent out to British satellite communications provider Inmarsat's satellite before disappearing into the waters.

Jamil: K'jaan tak arah guna bomoh cari MH370
Kerajaan tidak pernah mengarahkan mana-mana pihak untuk menggunakan khidmat bomoh dalam usaha mengesan pesawat Malaysia Airlines penerbangan MH370, kata Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.
   
Beliau turut menafikan penglibatan seorang bomoh, Ibrahim Mat Zin, dalam operasi mengesan pesawat malang itu adalah atas arahan pihak kerajaan.
   
"Lapangan terbang adalah tempat yang terbuka (siapa-siapa boleh datang), kalau kita tanya siapa yang upah, tentunya kita tidak boleh jawab sebab bukan urusan kita untuk tanya kepadanya (Ibrahim)," katanya.
   
Jamil Khir berkata demikian ketika menggulung usul menjunjung kasih titah ucapan Yang di-Pertuan Agong di persidangan Dewan Rakyat semalam.
   
Pada 10 Mac lepas, Ibrahim yang menggelar dirinya 'raja bomoh', menjalankan upacara mencari pesawat MH370 di KLIA bersama-sama beberapa pembantu.

Bagaimanapun, tindakan beliau mendapat kecaman pelbagai pihak dan dikritik hebat di laman sosial kerana dianggap melanggar ajaran Islam serta memalukan negara.
   
Jamil Khir berkata kerajaan juga menyelar usaha pihak tertentu mendapatkan khidmat bomoh yang melanggar batas syarak dan bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam dalam usaha pencarian pesawat itu.
   
Beliau berkata Jabatan Kemajuan Agama Islam Malaysia bersama-sama pihak berkuasa agama Islam negeri sedang dan akan sentiasa membuat pemantauan di lapangan terbang berkenaan bagi mengelak kejadian itu berulang.
   
"Tindakan undang-undang boleh dikenakan terhadap mana-mana pihak yang terlibat dalam aktiviti yang melanggar ajaran Islam," katanya.
   
Jamil Khir juga berkata kertas siasatan telahpun dibuka oleh Majlis Agama Islam Selangor bagi menyiasat dakwaan mengaitkan bomoh itu dengan beberapa pemimpin, yang kononnya meminta beliau datang ke KLIA.

KUALA LUMPUR: Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri hari ini memaklumkan bahawa kenyataannya yang mengatakan pesawat MH370 berpatah balik setelah menerima arahan daripada pusat kawalan, hanyalah andaian beliau semata-mata.

Jelas Abdul Rahim dalam sebuah kenyataan pada Khamis, setelah membuat semakan barulah beliau menyedari bahawa andaiannya itu tidak tepat.

"Berhubung kenyataan saya dalam perbahasan titah DiRaja di Parlimen semalam yang mengatakan pesawat MH370 berpatah balik (turn back) berkemungkinan setelah menerima arahan daripada pusat kawalan, saya ingin menjelaskan bahawa ia hanya merupakan andaian saya semata-mata serta kemungkinan-kemungkinan yang boleh berlaku," katanya.

Justeru, beliau telah menarik balik kenyataan yang dibuat semalam (Rabu) semasa menggulung perbahasan usul menjunjung kasih titah DiRaja di Dewan Rakyat.

Semalam, Abdul Rahim telah berkata pesawat yang tidak dikenali dan berpatah balik yang dikesan pada radar utama Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) dianggap mungkin berbuat demikian kerana menerima arahan menara kawalan trafik udara.

Katanya pesawat tersebut boleh menerima arahan tertentu dari menara kawalan dan melencong ke laluan lain jika dikehendaki tetapi keadaan tersebut bukan sesuatu yang memerlukan tindakan daripada TUDM walaupun ia dikesan di radar utama.

Ujar beliau, walaupun ia dikesan radar sebagai berpatah balik, tetapi TUDM tidak menganggapnya sebagai musuh dan sebaliknya adalah mesra pesawat serta mungkin menerima arahan dari menara kawalan.

"Untuk makluman bahawa radar kita hanya boleh mencerap sekitar 250 batu nautika sahaja, sebenarnya mana-mana radar di dunia pun hanya boleh mencerap sejauh 250 batu nautika sahaja," katanya semasa menggulung perbahasan usul menjunjung kasih titah Diraja di Dewan Rakyat di sini Rabu.

Pada 8 Mac lalu, pesawat Malaysia Airlines MH370 yang membawa 239 penumpang dan anak kapal berlepas dari Kuala Lumpur menuju ke Beijing, hilang daripada skrin radar, kira-kira sejam setelah berlepas dari Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA).

Radar utama milik TUDM pula dilaporkan mengesan sebuah pesawat membuat pusingan balik di lokasi sama di mana pesawat MH370 hilang dari radar kedua.

Abdul Rahim bagaimanapun menafikan bahawa TUDM mengambil masa untuk mengumumkan bahawa radarnya mengesan tindakan berpatah balik oleh pesawat yang tidak dikenali itu pada masa yang sama dengan waktu kehilangan MH370.

MH370: 300 imej baru dari Thai mungkin mampu beri sasaran lebih jelas kepada SAR

KUALA LUMPUR: Pengarah Eksekutif Agensi Maklumat Geo dan Pembangunan Teknologi Angkasa Thailand (GISTA), Dr Anond Snidvongs berkata 300 imej baru yang dikesan Thailand baru-baru ini berkemungkinan boleh memberikan sasaran yang lebih jelas kepada usaha pencarian pesawat Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 melalui udara.

Bagaimanapun kata beliau, penemuan objek menerusi imej-imej tersebut adalah bergantung kepada nasib kerana cuaca di selatan Lautan Hindi tidak begitu baik sejak beberapa hari lepas sehingga menyebabkan operasi pencarian tergendala.

Meskipun begitu, Dr Anond berkata terdapat peluang untuk objek-objek tersebut dikaitkan dengan imej-imej yang dikesan sebelum ini dan juga serpihan pesawat Boeing 777-200 yang hilang sejak 8 Mac itu.

"Ada peluang tetapi ia amat sukar untuk menentukan sama ada ianya objek yang sama atau tidak. Kami harap supaya imej-imej itu dapat diperolehi bukan sahaja dari satelit kami sendiri tetapi satelit lain juga," katanya ketika satu temubual atas talian dalam program Agenda AWANI, pada Khamis.

Imej satelit Thai telah mengesan sebanyak 300 objek terapung di selatan Lautan Hindi ketika operasi pencarian pesawat MH370, kata seorang pegawai pada Khamis.

Menurut GISTA, objek-objek yang berukuran di antara dua hingga 15 meter itu bertebaran di sekitar 2,700 barat daya Perth.

Anond Snidvongs memberitahu AFP, maklumat-maklumat tersebut telah pun diserahkan kepada Malaysia.

Jelasnya, imej-imej itu telah diambil oleh satu-satunya satelit pemerhati bumi Thailand, Isnin lalu, tetapi memerlukan beberapa hari untuk diproses.

Katanya objek-objek tersebut telah dikesan kira-kira 200 kilometer dari kawasan tumpuan satelit Perancis sebelum ini dalam usaha mereka mencari pesawat tersebut.

Satelit Jepun rakam 10 objek terapung, berkemungkinan MH370

KUALA LUMPUR: Agensi berita Jepun melaporkan bahawa satelit negara itu berjaya merakamkan 10 objek terapung berhampiran Australia, dipercayai berkemungkinan ada kaitan dengan  pesawat Penerbangan Malaysia MH370 yang hilang sejak 8 Mac lalu.

Menurut laporan AFP, agensi berita Kyodo dan Jiji berkata bahawa objek berkenaan dilihat kira-kira 2,500km ke barat daya Perth.

Pusat Perisikan Kabinet Satelit Jepun berkata objek berkenaan dianggarkan berukuran lapan meter panjang dan empat meter lebar.

Agensi berita berkenaan juga melaporkan bahawa objek berkenaan dilihat di kawasan yang sama dimana beberapa objek lain ditemui sebelum ini.

Jiji memetik kata-kata seorang pegawai kerajaan bahawa objek berkenaan “berkemungkinan besar” adalah bangkai pesawat MH370. Jepun sudahpun menyampaikan maklumat berkenaan kepada Malaysia.

MH370: Berkemungkinan terbang lebih pantas, kawasan pencarian diubah

KUALA LUMPUR: Kawasan pencarian pesawat Penerbangan Malaysia, MH370 yang hilang 8 Mac lalu kini diubah lokasinya susulan penemuan baharu yang kredibel oleh Pihak Berkuasa Keselamatan Maritim Australia (AMSA).

Menurut kenyataan yang dikeluarkan oleh laman web AMSA, hasil maklumat yang disampaikan oleh pasukan penyiasat antarabangsa di Malaysia, kawasan pencarian baharu akan diubah lokasinya 1,100 kilometer ke Timur Laut.

Agensi penyiasat, Biro Keselamatan Pengangkutan Australia (ATSB), telahpun memeriksa maklumat yang diberikan dan berpendapat maklumat itu adalah paling kredibel untuk mengesan kawasan serpihan.

Kawasan pencarian baharu itu dianggarkan merangkumi kawasan seluas 319,000 kilometer persegi, kira-kira 1,850 kilometer ke barat Perth.

Maklumat terbaharu ini adalah berdasarkan analisa data radar antara Laut China Selatan dan Selat Melaka sehingga hubungan radar terputus.

Hasil siasatan juga mendapati pesawat terbang lebih pantas dari masa yang dianggarkan sebelum ini, menyebabkan peningkatan penggunaan minyak dan berkemungkinan mengurangkan jaraknya menuju ke Lautan Hindi.

ATSB juga berpendapat maklumat akan lebih diperincikan oleh pasukan penyiasat yang kini terus menganalisa maklumat radar.

Pertubuhan Perisikan-Geopatial Australia  juga dilaporkan kini sedang berusaha mendapatkan imej satelit di kawasan baharu ini.

Sementara itu keadaan cuaca dlaporkan semakin baik dengan 10 pesawat telah ditugaskan untuk meneruskan misi pencarian hari ini.

Ia termasuk dua  kapal P3 Orion milik Tentera Udara Australia, sebuah jet milik pasukan Pengawal Pantai Jepun, sebuah P3 Orion milik Jepun, Sebuah P3 Orion milik Republik Korea, sebuah pesawat Hercules 130 milik Republik Korea, sebuah P3 Orion milik Tentera Udara Diraja New Zealand, sebuah  Ilyushin IL-76 milik tentera China, sebuah P8 Poseidon milik tentera laut Amerika Syarikat dan sebuah pesawat awam untuk tujuan komunikasi.

Sebuah lagi pesawat P3 Orion turut diletakkan dalam keadaan bersedia di pelabuhan Pearce sekiranya terdapat penemuan baharu.

Ketika ini terdapat enam kapal di kawasan pencarian termasuk HMAS Sucess dan lima kapal milik China.
AMSA dan ATSB dijangka akan mengadakan satu siding akhbar mengenainya.

Penerbangan MH370, membawa 227 penumpang dan 12 anak kapal, berlepas dari Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur, KLIA pada 12.41 pagi 8 Mac dan hilang daripada skrin radar semasa terbang di Laut China Selatan.

"Sejak penemuan satelit menunjukkan penerbangan MH370 berakhir di selatan Lautan Hindi berhampiran Australia, kerajaan Australia memberi sokongan yang padu kepada MAS, daripada menyelaraskan usaha pencarian pesawat kepada menawarkan pengecualian bayaran visa.
   
"Kami amat menghargai sokongan itu," katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini.
   
Sejak penemuan awal pada 16 Mac lepas, lebih banyak objek dikesan oleh satelit dengan terbaharu oleh satelit Thailand yang mencerap imej kira-kira 300 objek bersaiz dua hingga lima meter terapung kira-kira 200 kilometer dari lokasi pencarian MH370 di selatan Lautan Hindi.
   
Sehari sebelum itu pada 23 Mac, satelit Perancis mengesan 122 objek terapung di sekitar kawasan pencarian.
   
Sementara itu, Ahmad Jauhari berkata MAS berterima kasih atas sokongan yang diterima daripada kerajaan di seluruh dunia.
   
MAS juga amat menghargai sokongan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak serta Pemangku Menteri Pengangkutan Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein serta staf di Pejabat Perdana Menteri dan Kementerian Pengangkutan yang berada di barisan hadapan dalam usaha mengesan MH370.
   
Pada masa sama Ahmad Jauhari meminta masyarakat agar tidak menambah kesedihan dan kedukaan keluarga mereka yang terlibat dalam tragedi itu dengan menyebarkan pelbagai spekulasi dan berita palsu.
   
"Kedukaan mereka bertambah dengan setiap hari yang berlalu dan ditokok dengan penyebaran khabar angin baharu serta laporan yang mengelirukan," katanya yang turut berterima kasih kepada media yang membuat laporan secara bertanggungjawab berhubung tragedi itu.
   
Menurutnya MAS akan terus menyalurkan maklumat yang boleh dikongsi dengan media memandangkan MAS kini terikat dengan batas-batas tertentu susulan siasatan bebas yang sedang dijalankan.
   
Penerbangan MH370 yang dikendalikan oleh pesawat Boeing 777-200ER membawa 227 penumpang dan 12 anak kapal berlepas dari Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur pada 12.41 tengah malam, 8 Mac, sebelum hilang daripada radar kira-kira sejam kemudian ketika terbang di ruang udara Laut China Selatan.

COULD MH370 HAVE CRASHED DUE TO A NEW FAULT WITH A BOEING?

While the 777 has an excellent safety record, with an accident rate of one quarter the rate of the total jet fleet, theories abound about mechanical or structural failures that could have contributed to the disappearance of flight MH370.

If something did turn out to be wrong with the aircraft it would be the latest in a long list of problems that have beset Boeing planes recently, albeit incidents that mainly occurred on its 787 model.

Here are some of the recent issues which arisen:

• 7 July 2013: A Boeing 777 with 307 aboard people came down short of the runway at San Francisco International Airport on July 6 killing two people and injuring dozens. The plane hit a sea wall as it approached too low and too slow - the reason is still under investigation

• 17 January 2008: A Boeing 777 crash landed at Heathrow Airport after losing power to both engines because of restricted fuel flow. None of the 152 people on board the aircraft was seriously injured

This was found on This Hebrew forum. It was promptly removed and cannot be found there anymore;(but that does not work with the web, heh.) When translated, other people ridicule the poster for taking a picture in a forbidden area.

The Malaysia airlines logo has been removed from the tail, but the general paint scheme remains.

Let’s hope we don’t see this one make a cameo appearance somewhere with “Allahu Akbar” painted on the tail. I have confirmed that it arrived at Tel Aviv with a blank white tail, which was repainted before it left America.

Plane history: It was first leased by Malaysia airlines. Then purchased by GA Telesis. Then, FIVE FULL YEARS before the absolute MINIMUM life span, was scheduled to be scrapped for parts (makes no sense at all, it could have flown for at least 10 more years), and then for some mysterious reason it showed up in France, only to end up in Tel Aviv. This is where it all gets odd – WHY would it be slated for scrapping in America while still far too new, only to end up in Israel just sitting there? Most probably this plane was indeed purchased for the reason most people suspect and the repainted tail was an inconvenience. WHY pull it from the forum it posted on if this picture was meaningless?

The Malaysia Air 777 with Boeing serial number 28416 and registered as 9M-MRI was sold to GA Telesis, LLC of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on October 21, 2013, and is now registered as N105GT. The aircraft was stored at Tarbes Lourdes Pyrenees on October 4, 2013, and then on November 4, 2013, it was re-registered as N105GT and stored at Tel Aviv.

Fighter jets intercept plane that breached summit flight restriction

(CNN) -- The Royal Dutch Air Force scrambled fighter jets on Monday to intercept a cargo plane that entered Dutch airspace without proper clearance as world leaders gathered in the Netherlands for a nuclear security summit.

The LAN Cargo Boeing 777 bound for Amsterdam from Miami "was diverted away" from Dutch airspace due to restrictions around the summit in The Hague, Edmund Messchaert, spokesman for the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, told CNN.

Messchaert said Dutch F16 fighters followed protocol and escorted the plane to Germany without incident.

He said LAN Cargo apparently forgot to apply for permission to land or didn't know airspace restrictions were in place for the summit.

A statement from the hauler, based in Chile, confirmed Flight UC 1503 wasn't able to land in Amsterdam and was diverted to Frankfurt "because of an error in the special classification of the flight."

The plane was later permitted to continue to Amsterdam, the airline said.

Update - According to reports from plane-spotters, Israel has an identical Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 in storage in Tel Aviv since November 2013.  The only visible difference between the missing plane and the one in Tel Aviv would be its serial number.  What do the Israelis have planned with the twin Malaysia Airlines plane?

By using the twin aircraft they have in storage, the terror masterminds may have a sinister plan for the missing plane to seemingly reappear in a false-flag atrocity.  Public awareness of the twin plane in Tel Aviv, therefore, could prevent the evil plot from going ahead.

This information is very important because it fits neatly into the terror scenario presented by Israeli El Al "security expert" Issac Yeffet shortly after the Malaysian plane went missing.  Yeffet suggested the missing plane had been hijacked to Iran and was being prepared for a terror attack.  For the Israelis to have an identical plane in a hanger in Tel Aviv reveals why Yeffet presented such a scenario.  He appears to have been setting the stage for a false-flag attack like 9-11, perhaps in Israel. If such an attack were to occur in Israel all the evidence would be in the hands of Israeli intelligence giving them complete control of the interpretation or narrative of the terror event.
