The Manpower Ministry (MOM) has taken action against 10 more companies for discriminatory job advertisements.

[size=1.6em]SINGAPORE: The Manpower Ministry (MOM) has taken action against 10 more companies for discriminatory job advertisements.

[size=1.6em]It said investigations found that their advertisements were not aligned with the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices issued by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP).

[size=1.6em]The offending companies are PSC Biotech Pte Ltd, Winshire Education Centre, Dr.Ciabo Pte Ltd, Modern Pak Pte Ltd, Global Citizen Forum, Youbook Pte Ltd, Accredit HR Consultancy, Stafflink Services Pte Ltd, Sky Asia Consulting Pte Ltd, Zingmi Pte Ltd.

[size=1.6em]In one case, the company had advertised for the position of a full-time teacher, indicating "preferably Malaysians with teaching experience" as a requirement.

[size=1.6em]In another, the company advertised for the position of a director who must be "aged around 30 years."

[size=1.6em]The ministry said the companies have been told to put up online public apologies for 30 days -- which they have done. They have also been barred from hiring new foreign workers for six months following the publication of these apologies.

[size=1.6em]It is understood that the companies were informed of the offences by MOM some two months ago.

[size=1.6em]This brings the total number of companies the ministry has taken action against for discriminatory hiring practices since March to 12.

[size=1.6em]In March 2013, MOM took action against two companies -- Incofood Singapore and Expedia Singapore. Both companies put up public apologies as suggested by MOM.

[size=1.6em]One of the ten companies, Sky Asia Consulting Pte Ltd, said the job advertisement that got it into trouble had been posted by a consultant on Facebook without the company's knowledge.

[size=1.6em]Benjie Nam, who is the managing director, said: "It's hard for the head of the company to keep track of every consultant placing their advertisement on their individual Facebook page.

[size=1.6em]"New consultants who are eager to close accounts might overlook this issue... I told MOM we do not have the slightest ill-intentions to discriminate anybody in any kind of job.

[size=1.6em]"I explained to MOM  that since this is the first offence that our consultant did, I requested for MOM to give us a stern verbal warning instead of penalising us."

[size=1.6em]Sky Asia Consulting has since implemented more stringent measures to ensure all job advertisements have to be vetted before being posted.

[size=1.6em]Under the Tripartite Guidelines, employers who advertise a position requiring a specific attribute which may be viewed as discriminatory should ensure that the attribute is indeed a requirement of the job, and state the reason for the requirement in the advertisement.

[size=1.6em]For example, words or phrases that exclude Singaporeans or indicate preference for non-Singaporeans and those that exclude or indicate a preference for a certain age group or gender should not be used in job advertisements.

Tindakan harus diambil ke atas perusahaan asing yang terbitkan iklan jawatan berunsur pekauman saja.
Sebab ia jelas sekali adalah angkara pengurus HR yang cuba berlagak macam itu perusahan milik kaum dia sendiri.

Tapi kalau iklan rasis oleh majikan cina tak perlu lah ambik tindakan. Kaum lain tak berapa nak pandang.Syarikat miskin. Gaji pekerja semua rendah berbanding gergasi asing. Lantak lah kalau nak rasis pun.
Majikan melayu pun ada gak rasis walaupun tak miskin.

sebab kalau akta anti-rasis diluluskan, Polisi rasis kerajaan boleh disaman. Ucapan2 rasis pemimpin UMNO pun boleh disaman. Utusan akan disaman sampai bankrap.

walaupun........................sesetegah company tak ada requirement nak mandarin or any chinese language preferable ................. tapi bila interview nak slot out CV yang cina dulu di ambik...aku dulu bahagia HR so aku nampak permainan di situ....

Apahal mau perasan kononnya gergasi asing dari Jerman, Amerika, Jepun semua berbahasa cina ?

tpt keje lama aku dulu sbb bos HR tu cina, maka cina2 kat sana masuk dgn gaji besar,
mmg tak tulis kat iklan perlu bahasa mandarin tapi kerani tu cakap bos HR cuma ambik resume kaum dia saja,
supplier pun semua kaum dia jugak, aku rasa umno kena jadi rasis sebab puak2 ni lebih rasis.

Kemudian, ada melayu singapore komen, yg melayu kat sana 'been there, done that'. Sbb dah biasa sgt tgk iklan kerja nak mandarin speaking, chinese speaking...

Yg pasti, yg komen tu bukan forumer kak sue
