HOUSE BURGLED - That's a big rectangular hole in the door.

"Burglars broke into a senior citizen’s house at Jalan Kwing Ming/Minah on Monday.

The 77-year-old victim with the surname Hwang lodged a police report that he arrived home at 9.45 am to find his house gate forced open and the front door ajar.

When he entered the house, he found a big hole in the bedroom door and that the room had been ransacked. He said two other bedrooms left unlocked were also ransacked.

“This is the first time my house has been broken into. Nevertheless, theft of vegetables and fruits are cases not unheard of in the area. Last year, my dabai (olives) disappeared mysteriously from the trees,” he said.

Among the stolen items were RM1,000, Singapore and Brunei currency worth over RM1,000, a Nokia cellular phone, an Omega watch, birth certificate, passport and machete."
