Shortest Celebrity Marriages

In light of Kim Kardashian’s quickie marriage to Kris Humphries, we were inspired to find other short lived celebrity marriages. It may be a surprise that Kim’s was far from the shortest!
15. Jennifer Lopez & Cris Judd
J.lo and her backup dancer Cris Judd lasted 9 months before calling it quits. Not her first time around the block, Lopez had a previous marriage to Ojani Noa that lasted 11 months before divorcing. Most recently she was married to Marc Anthony for 7 years and had twins, a lifetime by Hollywood standards!
14. Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray
The One Tree Hill stars were married for only 5 months before getting a divorce. There were rumors of Chad cheating on her with Paris Hilton, yikes! Awkwardly enough, they had to keep playing love interests on the show.
13. Drew Barrymore & Tom Green
One of Hollywood’s zaniest couples, Drew and Tom, had dated for a while and lasted through Tom’s cancer and a scary house fire. However, their marriage fizzled out after 5 months, with Green citing irreconcilable differences.
12. Renee Zellweger & Kenny Chesney
Another one of Hollywood’s weirdest and most random couples, Renee and Kenny had only been together for 4 months before getting married. They had a full romantic spread in People magazine and gushed about each other non-stop. Unfortunately, 4 months later, the marriage was off, citing fraud as the reason. Chesney later admitted to panicking but thought Renee was a “sweet soul”.
11. Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock
The crazy couple first dated in 2001 but broke up. After reuniting early 2006, the couple announced the engagement and got married soon after on a yacht, an apparent “rock and roll affair”. However, marital bliss only lasted for 3 months and 23 days before the couple split.
10. Pamela Anderson & Rick Salomon
Making a second appearance on our list, Anderson married Salomon (famous for releasing the Paris Hilton sex tape and a rocky relationship with Shannon Doherty) in 2007. Much like her luck with Rock however, the pair lasted only 3 months before divorcing on the grounds of fraud.
9. Lisa Marie Presley & Nicholas Cage
Presley was engaged to John Oszajca, a musician, when she met Cage at Johnny Ramone’s birthday party. They were on and off again until 2002 when they married. However, the marriage only last for 3 months, with divorce proceedings lasting longer than the marriage itself.
8. Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries
The wedding that inspired this post, Kim and Kris! The reality star met the basketball player earlier this year and after a whirlwind romance and E! sponsored wedding, the two tied the knot in September 2011. However, just 72 days later, the couple has split, with Humphries himself surprised at the announcement. Kim has received a lot of backlash for the wedding, but as you can see, she’s not the only Tinsletown marriage to go up in flames quickly.
7. Tara Reid & Zack Kehayov
Poor Tara Reid can’t seem to catch a break! She’s really only famous now for her drunken antics and being the lowest paid star in American Pie and recently made headlines when she announced her whirlwind engagement and marriage to the unknown Zack Kehayov in August 2011. The pair married on a whim in Greece and then just as quickly divorced 2 months later in October, with Tara saying the marriage was never legal anyway.
6. Drew Barrymore & Jeremy Thomas
Before marrying Tom Green, Drew had an even shorter marriage to Jeremy Thomas in 1994. She married Thomas, a bartender, when she was just 19 by a clairvoyant clergyman the couple had hired through a psychic hotline earlier in the day! Less than a month later, Barrymore filed for divorce.
5. Mario Lopez & Ali Landry
Lopez and Landry had been dating for over 4 years when the pair got married in 2004. She was Miss USA and he was Slater from Saved by the Bell, two beautiful people in love! However, their happiness didn’t last much longer once reports of Lopez cheating on Landry before their wedding started coming out. 2 weeks later, the two had split. Lopez finally copped to cheating on his fiancee 7 years later in February 2011, stating he wasn’t mature enough to handle marriage.
4. Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman
Electra, famous for her Playboy spreads and Baywatch, and Rodman, Chicago Bulls star famous for crossdressing and generally being crazy, were another of Hollywood’s most unexpected couples. The pair married in Vegas in 1998 and just 9 days later, Rodman filed for annulment because he was “intoxicated”, an excuse I’m sure the judge had never heard before.
3. Britney Spears & Jason Alexander
Before the world’s biggest popstar married Kevin Federline, popped out two adorable babies, and then went crazy and shaved her head, she married Jason Alexander (not the Seinfield guy). The childhood friends got married in Vegas and then quickly annulled 55 hours later. Spears stated she “lacked understanding” of her actions, a sign of things to come?
2. Robin Givens & Svetozar Marinkovic
After a rocky marriage to Mike Tyson, allegations of abuses and cheating arose, Given remarried in 1997 to her tennis instructor Svetozar Marinkovic. However, the marriage was definitely not meant to last, with the pair separating the very day they married, with the divorce finalized within months. The groom later gave an interview in which he said they lasted 7 minutes before giving up.
1. Rudolph Valentino & Judith Acker
The old school Hollywood heartthrob, nicknamed the “Latin Lover” still holds the title for shortest celebrity marriage after over 100 years with 6 hours. After impulsively getting married, Acker immediately regretted the decision and locked Valentino out of their honeymoon suite! She claimed the marriage was never legal, seeing as they didn’t get a chance to consumate it, and both share the crown for the quickest celebrity marriage Hollywood has ever seen.
