mati vs brain dead, apa bezanya? dan deskripsi mati dalam medical term

i have some stupid question...
baru je baca some article dalam internet pasal brain death.so just curious nak tau cemana doctor2 kat malaysia ni determine seseorang tu dah mati?
what mati really mean dalam term medical ni?

sebabnya orang2 awam mcm saya ni selalu menganggap mati tu adalah keadaan bila roh ditarik drpd jasad.
tp dalam medical, doctor cek cemana ek?

adakah orang yang brain dead ni btol2 mati?
atau adakah orang mati tu yg ada normal brain activity?
n ada tak keadaan org yg dah dideclare sbg brain death, tetiba brain dia kembali kepada normal activity?

aku pun pk, selagi ada heart beat tu kiranya idup lg aaaaaaa..

tp dlm case brain dead tu, heart beat still ada lg... tp dah dianggap mati...
masa ni kalo individu tu semasa idupnya ada sign utk organ donation, procedure memindahkan organ2 terpakai ni dah bleh dilakukan..

haaa, aku confuse di situ laaaa...

btol gk tu..pulse ada,tp otak plak mati..so di diagnos sbgai mati otak la..kira mati la tu..lg pon otak mana lh derma.
masa tu la boleh tya relative sama da nk rela pemergian or x..aku pn x tau sgt bnda..tnggu yg lbih arif masok kt sini bg pndapat

Why doesn’t the heart stop beating if a person is brain dead?
The heart has its own pacemaker independent of the brain. As long as it has oxygen, it continues to beat. The heart could actually be removed from the body, placed in a saline solution, given oxygen, and still continue to beat. Therefore, the brain can be dead and the heart may continue to beat.

that's a bit misleading....
The heart does need the brain to continue beating! Even with its own pacemaker, it requires regulation from autonomic nervous system from the brainstem i.e. The sympathetic and vagus supply.. To keep beating properly and maintain cardiac output and good organ perfusion....

In brain dead, not the whole brain is dead... The parts dead are the cerebrals and the cerebellum... Brainstem is still alive getting oxygen from the heart, and maintaining the heart ... Keeping each other alive....

The paradox that if you cut a heart out and place in saline it still beating, is correct.. It will for a short time, beating and then will go into cardiac arrest i.e. Ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia after that.... Why? Because there's no sympathetic and vagus control! The heart will escape its own pacemaker, and goes into cardiac arrest...

When we want to certify death,

we confirm that there are no signs of life:
1. No pupillary response to light
2. No reaction to pain stimuli
3. No pulse felt
4. No breathing sounds
5. No heart sounds
6. And if there's a machine, confirm heart not beating with echocardiogram/ ultrasound probe

criteria 1-5 must be present to pronounce death

klu in medical memang brain dead means dead..maknanya dr segi perubatan nothing more yg bole offer utk patient. so to confirm brain dead ni kena buat brain death test 2x by 2 consultant..bila confirm brain dead then famili akan diberitahu n selalunya option is to withdraw or not to escalate therapy..klu yg pakai mesin pernafasan, slalunya selepas dpt persetujuan keluarga akan remove the ventilator..hope this help a bit..
