5,996 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 5,996 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Tuesday (Jan 25), comprising 5,578 local and 418 imported infections.
The case count is almost double Monday's figure.
It includes the number of Protocol 2 cases - those who are well or assessed to have a mild condition - after the Ministry of Health (MOH) changed its daily reporting structure last Friday.
There were two fatalities, according to the latest infection statistics on the MOH website. This takes the death toll from coronavirus complications to 850.
The weekly infection growth rate is 2.68 down from Monday's 2.69.
Among the cases reported on Tuesday, 3,934 are new Protocol 2 infections, comprising 18 imported cases and 3,916 local ones.
Another 2,062 cases were confirmed via PCR tests - 400 of them imported and 1,662 local infections.
As of Tuesday, Singapore has recorded 322,770 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic. The figure is backdated to Jan 6 when general practitioners started to order Protocol 2.
HOSPITALISATIONS AND VACCINATIONS
There are 509 patients in hospital, with 35 requiring oxygen supplementation. Ten patients are in the intensive care unit.
As of Monday, 91 per cent of Singapore's eligible population have completed their full vaccination regimen under the national vaccination programme.
About 56 per cent of the total population have received their vaccine booster shots.

Sempena ulang tahun kedua kes pertama kobid di singapore 24 january 2020, iols mengenang kembali masa my work trip ke spain cancel. alasannya sbb high risk, depart from changi to madrid dan iols ada history masuk singapore.
Masa tu pulak face mask and hand sanitiser mcm goreng pisang di JB. Iols masuk singapore pakai mask walaupun sihat, gomen depa kata those yg tak sihat je disuruh pakai mask masa tu. |
