Actually tropics is just as bad cos the moisture makes the carbon heavy and sticky. Thats why Singapore dropped M16.
However I think the SAR21 has its own problems too. It jams a lot as well. Mindef had better solve this problem fast.

Err I thought the M16 that Sg used is made to be operated in tropical environment since every Sg-made military equipment is manufactured that way (incl. ST-made,  license-manufactured M16)?
