bad news : http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/motherboards/m/36384555/

Strengths: Onboard consumer IR, RAID, supports latest processors

Weaknesses: no floppy connector, no overclocking support.

Summary: This is an awesome motherboard for HTPC use. I just built my third HTPC using this board. The onboard features are very nice. It has consumer infrared ports, which is a first on any motherboard. This means I dont have to use an external USB device for Infrared control. I used a small device from another meritline.com to connect those ports, all info is included in the motherboard. Works flawlessly!

The motherboard is rock solid, it has been running 24x7 for the past week, no issues. It does have the newer ATX2.2 power connector which maked it incompatible with older powersupplies. I did not know this and had to buy a new power supply. Also it sleeps and wakes up just fine. Drivers seem to be stable of course it is an intel machine !

Overall it is a very nice board for use in a HTPC / media pc.

Good news: The utilized on Intel DP35DP generator silego SLG505YC264BT is not compatible with the popular overclock utilities clock Gen, SetFSB and similar. ... read more here : http://xtreview.com/review215.htm
addition:

Conclusions

DP35DP proved its high stability and quality, a traditional attribute from original intel motherboards . The system performance is completely sufficient for multimedia applications without any overclock. This motherboard support all possible contemporary and future processors and video card. The quantity of interfaces and ports is completely sufficient for the majority of applications Intel DP35DP motherboard is proposed from $124.

Intel DP35DP Plus (+)
Low cost
High operational stability, qualitative assembly;
Support all contemporary and future CPU.

Intel DP35DP Deficiencies (-)
Absence of minimum overclock possibilities ;
Complexities with RAID installation and bios setting ;
No PS \ 2 port or Floppy.

Heh... Kalau nak compare Gigabyte DS3 dgn Intel, teruk le Intel kena hantam...  From, my experience; Intel susah nak OC, but I can dig around.  Apasal tak opt kat M/B lain; EpoX ke...  Ni sure kes sama cam sembunyi gula, tepung etc....  Saja je dia nak abiskan stock...

Whenever I go make my round in Low Yatt, many of the bosses there tak berani nak recommend Maxtor HDD etc...  Sure kena ceramah nye.     Most of them got deal with certain manufacturer/supplier to use theirs.  So, kalau tak tau, dia letak je....

So far yeah...  The main reason Seagate bought the company, any company for that matter; is the technology.  RnD costs lots of money & resources, so the shortcut is buy a company that have the tech & they can have access to it.  Maxtor might continue on for several years, but things are never the same anymore when Quantum goes out...  My auntie used to work at Maxtor Singapore, she went out while the deal still going on...  She said things were bad andgoing sour then...

Anyway, this might help a4_paper; if he/she willing to poke around.  http://www.cpufsb.de/FSB.HTM

nak OC kena belanja tinggi. ram takleh cikai-cikai, cooler fan lagi... banyak le faktor lain yg melibatkan duit.

kalo duit bukan masalah, tukar je la mainbod baru.

Money must be non-issue bzzts; nak belajar OC kat PC baru tu....  Silap2, CPU & RAM fried, demam jugak tu...

Anyway, kalau nak OC jugak; beli je water-cooled kit.  So far, response from the net; the board is stable enuff for everyday use.  Anyway, with cheap RAM nowadays; just pack on as much memory as you can & tweak the OS...  Or if you want, learn Linux/GNU & tweak everything to run your way...  Worst case scenario, you'll trash the OS je....

Waala weih... siap pakai 8800GT lagi....

Apa lagi?... no need to overclock CPU then, pack in as much RAM you can & start overclocking the 8800GT je la...  Ni yg jeles ni, aku kat KL pun boleh pakai 1950Pro Crossfire je....

mmg harga kat kB tu cekek daghah... especially kat kbmall tu.
stgh barang tu, lagi berbaloi beli tiket bas g kL, beli kat loyat, pastu balik kB balik.

contohnya, hddisk WD 500GB SATA. kL = RM359, kB = RM450.
tiket bas kB - KL : RM32 X 2 hala = RM64.

hmmm, congak la sndiri...
