Hard Disk Password Recovery

Salam,

Ada member set HD password kat notebook dia. Dia lupa password tu so sekarang dah tak bole pakai notebook tu. Ada sesapa tau camane nak buat recovery/bypass/reset password tu dak? Paling kurang pun recover data pun ok.

Untuk makluman notebook jenis Gateway.

Untuk makluman tambahan ini bukan BIOS password atau OS administrative password cos dia dah cabut CMOS battery dan dah try tukar hard disk(bila tukar bole pakai). So aku rasa kalau dia nak pakai as external hard disk pun tak boleh cos ini HD punya password.

aku ada check out kat google san tapi semua yg berbayar. nak cari yang free tools or method.

more detail info: were you able to boot to the OS at all? if not, where does it stop?

tak boleh masuk OS sebab berenti during POST. dia minta password.
member aku ni memang ada set HDD password tu but unfortunately
dia boleh lupa pulak password tu.

but as I said in my first post, dia ada try tukar hard disk lain masuk ke
notebook dia dan ok (notebook bole up sampai OS level).

if that's the case, the password is kept in the bios for that particular hard drive. it should work if you slaved the hard drive to another computer or make it an external device. also, if taking out cmos battery didn't work, try flash the bios. the data should still be accessible since the password is set at bios level and kept on that computer bios, hard drive doesn't carry or store it.

of course, it would be different story if you used a software that set the password between the bios and the os.

thanks for the respond. dia nak try next week kat opis (personally IMO tak akan berjaya base pada google san punya reference). utk makluman juga hard disk brand Seagate

after some more research pakai google san, nampaknya kena cari yg berbayar juga la kalau yg jadikan slave tu tak berjaya
