Korea lepaskan geram

DOHA - Para pemain besbol pasukan Korea Selatan semalam melepaskan kekecewaan mereka dengan membelasah Filipina 12-2 selepas kalah kepada Jepun dan Taiwan.

Pasukan penyandang juara itu terlepas peluang untuk mempertahankan pingat emas di sini dan bermain hanya untuk menyelamatkan maruah mereka.

Jurulatih, Jung Jin-ho berkata, beliau amat kecewa dengan persembahan para pemain pasukan itu.

Kami agak kecewa dengan keputusan itu. Ternyata kami kurang mahir berbanding Jepun dan Taiwan dalam perlawanan pembukaan. Sepatutnya kami bermain lebih baik.

Jadual perlawanan tidak menyebelahi kami kerana terpaksa mengharungi dua perlawanan besar yang tidak membawa kelebihan.

Jepun dan Taiwan mempunyai peluang untuk merehatkan pembaling utama mereka dalam perlawanan pertama dan kami pula tidak berpeluang langsung.

Korea dijangka menyerlah di Doha selepas mara ke separuh akhir Kejohanan Besbol Klasik Dunia, di mana mereka tewas kepada Jepun.

Sebaliknya mereka datang ke sini dengan membawa barisan pemain muda, kurang berpengalaman yang akhirnya membawa padah kepada diri sendiri.

Pengurus pasukan, Kim Jae-park menyedari kesilapan yang dilakukan oleh Korea.

Tentunya sukar jika kami tidak menggunakan khidmat pemain terbaik sama ada beraksi di dalam atau luar Korea, katanya.

Sudah tiba masanya untuk memikirkan masa depan pasukan ini.

Taiwan dan Jepun kini berpeluang untuk merebut pingat emas dalam aksi penentu pada 7 Disember.
