XXIX Olimpic Games Beijing 2008, 8th August to 24th August 2008

suka aku dengar berita ni, pasal aku ingat org pun boring dah tengok acara basikal keliling velodrome tu. dahlah membosankan, asyik omputih je menang pasal badan dia org besar.

kalau acara BMX nanti, ia lebih bergantung kepada skil & kegigihan latihan. mmg pun omputih jugak yg dominate, tapi at least ia tidak bergantung kepada faktor saiz badan semata2.

BEIJING, April 26, 2007) -- The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will traverse the longest distance, cover the greatest area and include the largest number of people, according to plans released tonight during a grand ceremony held in the China Millennium Monument in Beijing by BOCOG, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of XXIX Olympiad.

The torch of the Beijing Olympic Games has a very strong Chinese flavour. It demonstrates the artistic and technical level of China. It also conveys the message of a Green Olympics, a High-tech Olympics and the People's Olympics. The shape of the paper scroll and the lucky clouds graphic, expresses the idea of harmony.

The torch is 72 centimetres high, weighs 985 grams and is made of aluminium. The torch is of a curved surface form, with etching and anodizing being used during its production. A torch can usually keep burning for approximately 15 minutes in conditions where the flame is 25 to 30 centimetres high in a windless environment.

The torch has been produced to withstand winds of up to 65 kilometres per hour and to stay alight in rain up to 50mm an hour. The flame can be identified and photographed in sunshine and areas of extreme brightness. The fuel is propane which is in accordance with environmental guidelines. The material of its form is recyclable.

Beijing 2008 Games organisers earn praises for flawless test events

BEIJING: After a barrage of criticism over pollution, human rights and other issues, Beijing Olympic organisers are winning new friends this week as pre-Games test events run almost flawlessly.

Athletes and officials who travelled to Beijing from all over the world for rowing and other test events have been full of praise for the venues, and the surprising lack of pollution.

揟he water is very clean and the venue is the best I have ever seen,

Jackie Chan nyanyi lagu tema countdown Sukan Olimpik Beijing 2008

Hello korang sumer...!!!

Jackie Chan Flexes His Vocal Muscles

Wednesday October 24 4:08 PM ET

Jackie Chan has flexed his vocal muscles for the Olympics.

The 53-year-old actor, best known for his daredevil stunts, has recorded "We Are Ready," the official countdown song to the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

He spent three hours recording the song during a recent trip to Beijing, Chan said in a blog entry on his Web site Wednesday.

Chan, star of the "Rush Hour" movies, dabbles in music and has released several albums.

He praised the lyrics of the Mandarin Chinese song composed by Peter Kam, who won a Silver Bear award for best film music at the Berlin Film Festival last year.

"Waiting year after year/ We can see into the future/ Together with hard work and sweat, we've created the five different (Olympic) colors," says one refrain.

Olympic organizers have also recorded a second Chinese version sung by more than 100 pop stars, Kam said.

He told The Associated Press in a phone interview that an English version of the song may be recorded.

Chan said in an earlier blog entry that he got goose bumps when he attended the official one-year countdown event in Beijing on Aug. 8.

"The ceremony made me very emotional and I said to myself, `That's our China, that's our day!' I felt this moment belonged to our China, this moment belonged to us," he wrote.

Olimpik harus jadi misi utama
Norbakti Alias

Choong Hann set to make a record third appearance in Olympic Games

BY LIM TEIK HUAT

PETALING JAYA: Shuttler Wong Choong Hann intends to stop playing for the national team after the Beijing Olympics in August.

And that is good reason enough for him to go the extra mile to join national number one and world number two Lee Chong Wei as the second Malaysian entry for the men's singles of the Games competition in August.

Choong Hann is now ranked at number 16
