Paris Not Exactly A Pop Sensation



Looks like despite inital buzz over her first single, "Stars Go Blind," Paris Hilton's first CD is pretty much being viewed as a failure. According to the New York Post:

In its first week out of the gate, Hilton's first CD is being widely seen as a certified flop. "Paris," which features the single "Stars Are Blind," sold a lackluster 75,000 copies in the United States - a pittance compared to Christina Aguilera's first-week sales of 320,000, according to Soundscan. And projected sales for next week are said to be a measly 30,000, which is a larger than normal second week drop. "Paris" is languishing at the bottom of Billboard's Hot 100 - so Hilton's label rushed out her second single, "Turn It Up," which isn't doing very well either. "The international outlook is not much better for her," one industry source told Page Six. "The international people are not inclined to do a big push since she can't back up the album with a tour. Obviously, she can't sing live."

The favorite part is when they say that "obviously, she can't sing live."

Partying hard? Lotsa $$$.

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what diseases one might catch from being bitten by a kinkajou and I? rather not run the risk of speculating; all I know is that if you get bittten by one and you?e as photogenic as Paris Hilton, you?e going to get photographed walking out of a doctor? office after receiving some unknown treatment. Still, if these pictures are any indication, Paris seems to be doing just fine - after all, would someone suffering from mysterious kinkajou diseases have the wherewithal to pick out a doctor? office within spitting distance of Fred Segal??

British artist rebrands 500 copies of Paris? CD







Infamous British grafitti artist Banksy, known for sneaking his works of art into galleries like the MOMA, Metropolitan Museum, Tate and Museum of Natural History, has struck out at Paris Hilton by releasing 500 hilariously doctored versions of her debut CD, ?aris.?

The secretive artist has smuggled 500 doctored copies of Paris Hilton? debut album into music stores throughout the UK, where they have sold without the shops? knowledge.

In place of Ms Hilton? bubble-gum pop songs, the CDs feature Banksy? own rudimentary compositions. On the cover of the doctored CD, Ms Hilton? dress has been digitally repositioned to reveal her bare breasts; on an inside photo, her head has been replaced with that of her dog.

On the back cover, the original song titles have been replaced with a list of questions: ?hy am I famous??, ?hat have I done?? and ?hat am I for??

Inside the accompanying booklet, a picture of the heiress emerging from a luxury car has been retouched to include a group of homeless people.

In another shot, Ms Hilton? head has been superimposed on a shop window mannequin beneath a banner reading: ?hou Shalt Not Worship False Icons.?

Instead of Ms Hilton? own compositions, the replacement CD features 40 minutes of a basic rhythm track over which Banksy has dubbed Ms Hilton? catchphrase ?hat? hot!? and other extracts from her reality TV programme The Simple Life.

What the article fails to mention is that Banksy may have a more personal reason to mock Paris. One of his biggest art sales, that of Queen Victoria wearing garters while sitting on a woman? face, was to Christina Aguilera for over $40,000. While Paris? debut CD is hardly a threat to Aguilera, with Paris? CD selling a measly 75,000 copies in the US compared to Aguilera? 320,000, their albums were released at about the same time. Aguilera? ?ack to Basics? came out on 8/15/06, while ?aris? was released on 8/22.

Worst Dressed at The VMAs

What a disappointing year for style at the VMAs. There were some gold themes but for the most part bad dressing was the most popular trend. Jennifer Lopez had potential with the mini dress but the head-wrap killed the look for us. Did she forget to dye her hair again and decide to avoid the pregnancy rumors? Her boots were also screaming Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman prostitute. As for Ms Minnillo, she has a hot little bod, but she sure doesn't know how to dress it. She just made our worst dressed for the Emmys and here she is again. She just can't get out of the pageant girl look. As for Paris, the girl is wearing a tu-tu - need we say more?

Paris Hilton Cries a River



Paris Hilton, Brandon Davis, and Diddy denied access to Bungalow 8 club in NYC for a private MTV VMA party (09/01/06).

Paris and her friends (including Brandon Davis and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs) were denied entry to the MTV Video Music Awards after party at the Bungalow 8, the New York nightclub.

The incident even went so far as to end with Paris in tears arguing with police. Guess Karma comes around for everyone. And this just a few weeks after Paris laughed at Tara Reid who was denied entry to Hyde in LA.

Paris Hilton Arrested for Alleged DUI

Paris Hilton was arrested in Hollywood Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence, Los Angeles police said.

Officer Martha Garcia tells PEOPLE, "Paris Hilton was pulled over just before 12:30 a.m. because she was observed driving erratically. She was riding in a Mercedes-Benz with another passenger.

"Officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. The field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and the officers determined she was driving under the influence. She was arrested at 12:30 a.m. and was cooperative at the time of her arrest. She was released at 3 a.m. on her own recognizance, which is normal for a misdemeanor arrest."

Garcia also said Hilton took a Breathalyzer test showing her blood-alcohol level to be 0.08 percent, the minimum to warrant an arrest in California. Hilton's car was impounded.

Hilton, 25, was picked up from the Hollywood police station by sister Nicky and Nicky's boyfriend, Entourage star Kevin Connolly.

On Thursday morning, Hilton called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show on L.A.'s 102.7 KIIS FM to explain the incident.

"You know what, it was nothing," she said. "I'd been shooting my music video for my new song, 'Nothing in this World.' ? I got off last night at about 10 p.m. then I went and had dinner with my sister and all my girlfriends, and then we went to this charity event Dave Navarro threw for brain tumors.

"And um, I had one margarita, starving 'cause I had not ate all day, on my way to In-n-Out which is probably three blocks away, and I'm in my (Mercedes) SLR, which is a little fast, so maybe I was speeding a little bit" ? she giggled ? "and I got pulled over."

So, Seacrest asked, was she driving erratically, as reported? "No, I was just really hungry and I wanted to have an In-N-Out burger!"

She was only taken to the police station, she said, because "There was a lot of paparazzi around, so I think they wanted to make a statement. They even said, 'There's people watching, we don't want them to think we're giving you special treatment.' I totally understood. I was in there 15 minutes and out."

The police "were so nice," she said, adding that she was surprised by press coverage of her arrest. "Everything I do is blown out of proportion. It really hurts my feelings."
