Miriam Stoppard is good. I was lucky that i picked it up at MPH when I was 2 months pregnant with my 1st baby. So since I have 4 kids ni, kira berbaloi habis2 la.
I also have the same experience dgn Tina. I read this book "How to have Smarter Baby" by sapa entah and dia kata to talk to the baby masa dalam perut lagi. I talked to the baby, sang to her, shared her my feelings, etc esp masa dalam kete on the way to work. One hour after she was born, the nurse wheeled her in my room, tapi baby mengadap the other side, so I can only look at her hair. Since I was still weak, I softly looked towards her and called her name, the name yg i used throughout pregnancy. I called her name once, and she actually pusingkan kepala, looked at me straight in the eye and gave me a BIG smile....... then she dozed off again.
That was one moment that I will always cherish. She is now 12 years old and I am very proud of my girl, who is about to blossom into a young lady...... |

i baru order buku "supernanny" from a book club. my friend yg recommend. so now tgh ada offer...get 2 of "supernany" books for $50. |

i dah telek 2-2 tue...lebe kurang sama ajek. in terms of content and even number of pages both book hampir sama. cuma beza size aje...... |

Fadz beli byk buku, especially masa ngandung dulu, the best for pregnancy is by Ann Douglas "The Mother of All Pregnancy" Book, Dr Miriam nya buku pun ada sbb byk illustration bergambar.
Latest in my collection is "What to expect the toddler years" Puas hati cover problems sampai anak umur 3 thn. |

i bought 1 book "how to talk so kids will listen & listen so kids will talk" by adele faberand elaine mazlish....this books teaches us parent on positive communication......unfortunately takleh nak apply the elements dari buku tu yet coz anak I cakap bahasa german.........
sekarang ni tengah start on the 2nd book baru jer pinjam dari library last week..... " how to raise a brigther child" by joan beck...... |

tina,
personally i think this book is giving you a different method of dealing with kids........mainly on positive re-enforcement........i probably have to read it again once anak i dah pandai bercakap in full sentence...... buku ni banyak jugak graphic example and ader certain part, u have to fill up macam coursework.....
i good thing about this book, sometimes changing the tone/words that u normally use can have positive influence on the outcome, at any other times, you really don't have to find all the right answer for ur kids, all they need it just a listener, who just cakap "mmmmm"......
lastly, without knowing kita memang suka melabel anak......regardless la " budak nakal", or "good girl".....this labelling create stress to conform to it.......its kinda overwhelming sometimes........

saya baru beli buku supernanny ...hehehehe...ni cara minah saleh ajar anak2 dia. supernanny ni ada tv show ,selalu tgk mmg menjadik la dia train anak2 org tu. nama supernanny ni Jo Frost.
tp, ntha boleh praktik ke tak kat anak saya tka tau la, sebab mak ayah kena disiplin gak. kita ni selalu mudah cair ati @ give up. hehehe. |

Tadi ke kinokuniya ada buku supernanny tapi berbalut, so tak boleh nak peek.
Sekarang ni tengah baca COOL MUM SUPER DAD. Tertarik nak baca sebab ditulis oleh orang Melayu kita, Jamilah Samian. Jarang jumpa parenting book dalam bahasa Inggeris dan ditulis oleh orang Melayu. Sangat padat isinya. Banyak berdasarkan pengalaman penulis membesarkan anak 6 orang. Belum boleh review panjang lebar sebab belum habis baca. Ada sesiapa dah baca?
