Designing

• Managing design process from conception through to final styling

• Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers

• Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or accessories, and write specifications such colour schemes, construction, material types, and accessory requirements

• Adapt other designers' ideas for the mass market

• Decide on a theme for a collection

• Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, and seeking design inspiration

• Collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to line, and create new concepts

• Select fabrics, embellishments, colours, or a style for each garment or accessory

• Collaborate with other designers to coordinate special products and designs

• Presenting story, mood, colour boards, and samples to Managing Directors
