I am wondering what are the ways to clean a carpet without getting so many chemicals?

Let me share my opinion relating carpets (not be best one, so if you are a carpet lover, sorry). Well, when we build the house, we were on a budget and couldn't afford warm floors. Therefore, we carpeted the floor in the hall totally. My kids are a bit allergic, so I used to clean them only with eco stuff, and this was the biggest mistake. We've got some insects and they destroyed the carpet and even the floor! Imagine, we wanted to save some money but in the end we had to make a full flood damage restoration!! Carpets need serious cleaning guys, better in special services and not at home. Don't repeat my mistake.
