Partygoers at a popular Kuala Lumpur nightclub on Saturday night were shocked after a 23-year old local woman’s breast implants burst on the dancefloor, causing chaos and confusion.
The venue, which cannot be named as investigations continue, is a popular club in central KL, and was crowded with hundreds of guests on Saturday night when the incident occurred.
According to a statement by investigators, the woman involved in the incident was a local KL resident who often visited nightclubs. A number of witnesses who were at the club spoke to local media to share their accounts.
“I was quite close to her on the dance floor,” said one male witness. “For most of the night she’d been dancing with this tall foreign guy, and the pair of them had their hands all over each other. I think they were pretty intoxicated.”
According to the male witness, the pair were quite brazen in their display of physical affection for each other. “They really weren’t shy, I saw him reach under her skirt and under her top several times. Some of the other people nearby were telling them to get a room.”
However, at around 1:30 AM, the witness recalled the chain of events that led to the breast implants bursting. “I saw the guy put his hands up her top again, and it looked like he was squeezing her [breasts]. I guess he must have squeezed too hard, because the next minute we were covered in a spray of liquid and the woman started screaming so loud we could hear her over the music.”
The woman collapsed to the ground and caused a panic amongst other guests who were on the dance floor. “A lot of people thought she’d been attacked, because her top was stained with blood,” said the male witness. The venue’s security team rushed to provide first aid and medical help was called. The venue was evacuated and closed for the rest of the night with investigators summoned.
So far, investigations into the incident are ongoing and the woman is said to be in a stable condition at hospital as surgeons attempt to repair her damaged breasts. In a preliminary statement, the medical staff offered some insights into what may have caused the implants to burst.
“We’ve found a lot of women are travelling throughout Asia for cosmetic surgery to take advantage of cheaper prices, and it appears in this case the victim has had her augmentation procedure done in Thailand. While the prices may be cheaper, the quality of the implants is often not as good, and in this case it appears some defective implants have been used.”
Surgeons are hopeful the woman’s breasts can be completely repaired, although the scars – both physical and emotional – will likely last for some time.
In other news making headlines in Kuala Lumpur, a mix-up at a popular KTV venue has resulted in a group of sex workers being mistakenly sent to the wrong room, interrupting an innocent work KTV party amongst unsuspecting male and female colleagues.
