Singaporeans know she will be the one.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who can see the future without even having to see it, are lining up to take turns to congratulate Halimah Yacob.
This after they know that Halimah Yacob will be the next president of Singapore when the presidential election is held in September 2017.
One Singaporean, Gong Xi Nee, said: “It is great that Singapore now has a female president. This is a step forward for Singapore.”
“It is good to be decisive so early on.”
“The presidency is the highest office in the land and it shouldn’t be left to chance to decide who gets to own it.”
Other locals said Singaporeans are clever to avoid falling into the trap other countries have inevitably fallen into.
Another local, Tou Piao, said: “We don’t want to end up in a situation like the United States, where a person can actually become president without winning the popular vote.”
“Okay, in Singapore you can also become president without winning the popular vote, but you get the drift.”

Ya, belum dilantik tapi she is a candidate.
Rite now she is the SPEEKER dalam Parlimen Singapura.
Halimah Binti Yacob (Jawi: حاليمه بنت ياچوب; born 23 August 1954) is a Singaporean politician.[1] A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), she is currently the ninth Speaker of Parliament,[2] having assumed office on 14 January 2013. She is the first woman to hold this post in the Republic's history. She is the third consecutive Speaker belonging to a minority race, after Abdullah Tarmugi and Michael Palmer.[3] She also served as Minister of State at the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports from 2011 to 2013. She has been a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Jurong Group Representation Constituency between 2001 and 2015 and Marsiling-Yew Tee Group Representation Constituency since 2015.

Halimah kan wakil PAP. So kalau election pun, confirm lar PAP menang. Last GE pun PAP menang besar over 70%, kawasan opposition reduced to only 1.

Singapore’s parliamentary speaker Halimah Yacob is the front runner to be elected president in next year’s election, observers say, after the government confirmed plans to reserve the contest for ethnic Malays as part of a move to broaden minority representation in the ceremonial role.

“By the operation of the hiatus-triggered model, the next [presidential] election due next year will be a reserved election for Malay candidates,” Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told lawmakers in parliament on Tuesday afternoon.

The so-called “hiatus-triggered model” was mooted in September by a constitutional commission headed by the chief justice and convened by Lee following concerns that an ethnic Malay has not held the presidency in the majority-Chinese country since 1970.
