MANCHESTER UNITED ** WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNITED manager Sir Alex Ferguson acknowledged his team have a "big chance" of wrapping up the Barclays Premier League title after the 4-1 defeat of West Ham.
Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and strikes from Carlos Tevez and Michael Carrick moved United a step closer to the title at Old Trafford, with Dean Ashton scoring the Hammers' consolation.
Victory at Wigan next Sunday will confirm United as champions but the coronation may come even earlier as Chelsea now need to get something - and almost certainly win - at Newcastle on Monday to fight on until the final day.
Ferguson, whose team lost Nani to a red card, told Sky Sports afterwards: "It's been a great day for us and we've got a big chance.
"Our players have been absolutely fantastic this season. We were down to 10 men today and I said to try to run the clock down, keep possession and be patient in the second half and I'm very pleased because there was a bit of tiredness."
The Scot had no complaints about Nani's foolish sending-off for butting Lucas Neill, vowing to "deal with it".
On Monday's clash at St James' Park, Ferguson said: "The way Chelsea have been talking is that it'll be easy up there - but we know that's not the case.
"Look at Dean Ashton today. He was a United fan as a kid but scored a goal which could kill our hopes."
On Ronaldo he added: "Cristiano has had a fantastic season and he develops all the time.
"There was a terrible tackle on him today but he keeps getting up and playing with courage and you've got to applaud that."

Giggs nears Reds all-time record
Giggs made his Manchester United first-team debut in March 1991
Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs is set to break Bobby Charlton's record number of appearances for the club in the Champions League final on 21 May.
Giggs can surpass the England legend's record - which now stands at 758 - against Chelsea in Moscow after a recount of Charlton's career tally.
"There's a very good chance [it will happen]," said boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Giggs, 34, was a substitute in the 4-1 win over West Ham and needs to play at Wigan next week to equal the record.
It was thought that former Wales international Giggs could only level Charlton's Manchester United appearance record this season - until a 45-year-old mistake was uncovered by a club historian.
Charlton, now a long-serving club director, has been listed as having made 759 appearances since he played his last match for the club in 1973.
But it was discovered that this figure included an FA Cup third-round tie against Bolton Wanderers in January 1962, which he actually missed after being taken ill on the morning of the match.
"It would mean more [than breaking the record] to win the Champions League and the Premier League," said Giggs.
" Personal records are things to look back on when you finish you career.
"Yes, it would be a proud moment if I do it but the main thing now is trophies."
Since making his League debut against Everton in March 1991, Giggs has won nine Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and the Champions League in 1999.

Come on Manchester United: I'm Rooting For You!
[quote]
Let me start by saying that I'm a Liverpool fan. And one of the criteria to being a Liverpool fan is to dislike Manchester United.
You may, therefore, be surprised by the title of this piece.
However, Chelsea have fast become my most hated team in the world. Even more so than United, even more so than Everton.
There are many reasons for this. One is their harassment of referees in large groups. They seem to think that refs aren't allowed to give decisions against them. These groups are usually led by the likes of Drogba, Terry and Ashley Cole.
This leads me to my second reason. I dislike almost all of their players. In fact the only one I like is Michael Essien.
This reason is just personal opinion, I understand, but Drogba for example, I find the most disgraceful player I've ever seen.
Obviously, I'm not too fond of United either, but their style of play, and some of the players they have are a long way ahead of Chelsea, and anyone else in England for that matter.
However, the main reason I want Man United to pip Chelsea to the post in the Premier League, and beat them in Moscow, is because Man United have earned it, while Chelsea would have bought it.
United have no doubt spent big while Ferguson has been in charge, but not needlessly big.
He's seen an area that needs improvement and spent the appropriate money to improve it.
In fact, the only huge money signings in the strongest eleven of United are Ferdinand and Rooney.
However, Chelsea got an investment from Roman Abramovich and immediately splashed an unnecessary amount of cash.
For example, up to May 2006, he had signed 13 players for more than |
