And if you fancy one last positive statistic, how about this: Chelseaare unbeaten with the outstanding Ricardo Carvalho in the team sinceway back in early November 2006.
the Blues are undefeated in the last 44 games where we have scored first.
this is Everton's first semi-final in the League Cup since 20 years ago
Chelsea are the only Premier League club David Moyes has yet to defeat as a manager. In 17 matches, including one with Preston, he has drawn five and lost 12.
Chelsea are looking to extend our unbeaten record against Everton to 19 games. Our last defeat was in November 2000 (1-2) at Goodison Park
Chelsea have been beaten twice in 27 games in all competitions under Avram Grant in a run that has seen 20 wins and 18 clean sheets.
Chelsea have Juliano Belletti, Ricardo Carvalho, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry one yellow card away from a one match banfor reaching five bookings. They will miss next Wednesday's matchagainst Reading at Stamford Bridge should they receive a cautionagainst Everton. -- bahaye ni riccy, jokol n beleti
Should Chelsea progress, the Carling Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 24th February.
Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Philips could be available for the second-leg of the Carling Cup semi-final against Everton, according to Avram Grant.
Chelsea coach Avram Grant, however, told the club's official website that Wright-Philips has been working very hard and doing everything in his powers to make himself available for selection.
"The good thing with these players is if they are not 100 per cent, they are doing everything to play," said Grant on the eve of Tuesday afternoon's training session.
"Shaun is doing everything to play. I don't know if he will play but it is good news that he is out there," he added.
Everton look to Spurs for inspiration against Chelsea
LONDON - Everton will look to Tottenham Hotspur for inspiration when they seek a rare victory over holders Chelsea in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final on Wednesday .
Spurs ended a 21-game winless streak against Arsenal in emphatic style on Tuesday with a 5-1 victory, sweeping them into the February 24 final at Wembley 6-2 on aggregate.
If Everton are to join them they will have to end a similarly awful run against Chelsea, who they have beaten only once in 23 games over 10 years.
They were close to securing a 1-1 draw in a tightly-contested first leg until an injury-time own goal by Jolean Lescott handed Chelsea the advantage.
Everton are in hot form in the league and their weekend victory over Wigan Athletic hauled them into the top four -- one spot behind Chelsea.
Both teams have been hit hard by absences due to the African Nations Cup.
Everton have replaced first-leg scorer Aiyegbeni Yakubu with regular substitute Andy Johnson, while Chelsea have brought in Nicolas Anelka to take on the striking responsibilities in the absence of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou.
Anelka will hope to propel his new team to their third League Cup final in four years after they won in 2005 and last year.
The home side, however, will approach the game in confident mood as they seek to reach the final for the first time since 1984 in pursuit of the one domestic trophy they have never won.
Ref watch: it's Steve Bennett for Everton Vs Chelsea
Yes, yes, the bad rumour is true - Steve Bennett, Orpington's baldest son will be blowing the whistle for Everton Vs Chelsea tonight. As I've previously pointed out here on Pies, Steve is such a remarkably terrible ref, his one claim to fame is, in 2002, he was deemed a bad enough ref to cast his eye over the "Worst Team in the World" World Cup Final. Yes, the world's worst ref looked after a match between the two lowest FIFA-ranked teams in the world (Bhutan and volcano plagued Montserrat). Steve's big moment took place while a much better referee was looking after the real World Cup Final.
However it might not all be bad news. Steve's already officiated three Chelsea wins this season including two in the north-west, at Wigan and Blackburn. Plus Bennett hates David Moyes. Their very public spat goes back all the way to September 2002 when the two had a giant row during a Southampton Vs Everton game. Later that season Bennett and Moyes fought again at West Brom, and David Moyes went on to vow he'd 'contest every word' ever said by Bennett regarding Everton. Moyes went on to accuse Bennett of lying in order to justify his dismissal and had to go see The FA like a naughty school kid.
Expect controversy, moaning, red cards and baldness tonight then...
