Morimoto Shintaro to Appear in 'Crayon Shin-chan'!
Johnny's Jr. member Morimoto Shintaro played his first ever lead role in the film 'Snow Prince Kinjirareta Koi no Melody [lit. 'Snow Prince Melody of Forbidden Love']'. To celebrate the movie's premiere Morimoto will make a guest appearance in the popular TV Asahi anime series 'Crayon Shin-chan'. He will star in the anime as Sota, the main character of 'Snow Prince'. The dubbing session was conducted in front of reporters at a studio in Tokyo!
He is set to appear in an episode titled 'Snow Prince dazo [lit. 'It's the Snow Prince']' which will be part of the special program 'Ora Nai-chau-zo Kando no Eiga Special [lit. 'Tear Inducing Film Special']' to be broadcast on December 18th. Shin-chan [main character of anime] and his pet dog Shiro are watching the commercial of 'Snow Prince', but suddenly they are sucked into the TV set. Shin-chan loses sight of Shiro, and eventually runs into Sota (Morimoto) painting the scenery with his dog Chibi at his side. Sota and Chibi helps Shin-chan find Shiro.
It was the first time for Morimoto to voice act. "I was very nervous at first, but because Shin-chan's voice and remarks were so funny that helped me relax." He was asked about costarring with his favorite character. Morimoto excitedly replied "When I was in kindergarten I used to be called 'Shin-chan' too. I've watched the anime every week, and so I was happy to guest star in the program. My mother congratulated me. She said 'You're so lucky!'"
The movie 'Snow Prince' takes place in the early years of the Showa period (1926-1989) and shows the friendship formed between the orphan Sota (Morimoto) and his pet dog Chibi.
