This autumn, TBS plans to broadcast a five-episode drama series titled "Japanese Americans." The drama, an original work by veteran screenwriter Sugako Hashida, focuses on a Japanese family who emigrated to the United States a century ago and lived through World War II.
SMAP's Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (35) will star, playing the second-generation immigrant Ichiro Hiramatsu, who serves as a U.S. soldier during the war. Kusanagi will also play the role of the father Nagayoshi during his younger days, though Kiichi Nakai (48) will take over that character for middle age and beyond.
Yukie Nakama (30) plays the heroine as Ichiro's love interest Shinobu. Other cast members include Pinko Izumi (62) as the mother, Kenichi Matsuyama (24) as the younger brother Jiro, Yo Oizumi (36), Kaoru Yachigusa (79), and Keiko Kishi (77).
Filming starts in the next few days and is expected to last five months, including two months of filming in the U.S. Broadcast dates have not yet been set, but it will air this fall as five two-hour episodes on consecutive nights, which is a first for the network. The drama is being labeled as a special project in honor of TBS's 60th anniversary.
Arashi (嵐)'s new single "Troublemaker" has been released on March 3rd.
The song "Troublemaker" is used as the theme song of the drama "Tokujo Kabachi(特上カバチ!!)" which is on air now and is starred by Sho Sakurai (櫻井翔).
The music video is glittering, with a colorful positive atmosphere in it. "If you listen to this song once, it will come into your head immediately. From second time, you will be able to sing it...it's a cheerful song!" commented by Masaki Aiba (相葉雅紀). This song was first sang on their concert in February, and naturally made all fans dancing together.
Jun Matsumoto (松本潤) indicated that he loved the refreshing intro part with strings. Kazunari Ninomiya (二宮和也) also announced loudly: "I like this song very much!"
Another song "Yurase Imawo (揺らせ、今を)" has been included as the B-side song, which is being used as the theme song of Vancouver Olympic Games 2010 program on Nippon TV.
In the DVD of the limited edition, a video clip of "Troublemaker" is included, while all six tracks with another B-side song "Mou Ippo(もう一歩)" and original Karaoke for each song are included in the normal edition.
Satoshi Ohno (大野智) said no matter melody A and melody B, he felt good when sing these songs all together. And Sho Sakurai(櫻井翔) was fond of the lyrics especially.
It seems the new single "Troublemaker" is highly evaluated by all members of Arashi. Maybe it will be one of the best pop songs of Arashi ever!
