Aku nak tanye, kalau sesape yang lulus PAC, akan dipanggil untuk interview, kalau ade para calon ingin masuk ke Wisma Putra - Kementerian Luar Negeri, calon-calon perlu ge melalui proses esaay writing/interview semule? |

alah... itu cuma lulusan kertas. lulus sebagai engineer for example, you are still NOT an engineer.
you don't have the quality to be called one. same goes for lawyers, marine biologist, accountant or chemist.
so, any graduates from any pure science degree, is just fresh graduate who actually now nothing but how to score a minimum C in their class.
Joining the service as a freshie, they are just a normal bloke. that does not made them special or recognized having a multitasking ability.

kalau lulusan kertas tak payah la buat course2 berasingan kat uni. buat satu course je, "course untuk dapat kerja". nak jadi doktor amik course tu. nak jadi engineer pun amik course tu. nak jadi ptd pun amik course tu.
memang la semua yang keluar u tu freshie, tapi at least diorang dah ada teori. tinggal nak apply je dalam real life.
aku x faham ayat bawah nih, dan secara jujur aku pun terasa sebab aku lulusan sains. kalau kite marah kat somebody pun tak payah la kut nak rendahkan martabat semua orang.

totally agree with u don naza...hehehe
at least science grad have basic... compare to those who are not....
can a management student do design an integrated circuit.... surely not...
but an engineer/lawyer can be a manager or write a novel...hehehe...
so in other word management/sastera...can score good result but they never will be better than c grad in science class...
so to compare apple to apple...look on SPM result....surely science grad will be better.. |

What I meant was, if you are thinking that by applying a PTD with certificates in pure science studies will give you an advantage, it is not true. Some people said that pure science students like engineering has an advantage when applying for PTD, due to their ‘ability of critical thinking’, ‘seeing things differently’.
I highly doubt that even if they claimed they have that necessary basic knowledge to be one. Every field has their own settling period, to become one. Lawyers has chambering, doctors has horsemanship, and contrary to the popular belief, if you are not registered to the BEM or IEM, no you can’t practice as Engineer because it’s against the Engineer’s Act 1967. That’s 2, 3 years after you graduate then only you qualify to be one. The facts that once you go in to field, then only you harness that so-called critical thinking ability. It is what we called EXPERIENCE that nobody teach u in class.
So after getting yourself stuffed with necessary experience, then you can consider yourself having advantage ahead of applying for PTD. Otherwise, you are still judged by the normal stuff, i.e. ability to converse fluently, appearance, throwing ideas here and there. If fairness, your cert might come in handy in some cases, but probably not in all cases.
Don Naza, it shouldn’t be pure science degree… it is to all graduate, that they have the skills of getting a minimum C in their exam upon their graduation. That is what happens with our current exam system. You (maybe), me and everybody else included. |

god (Allah untuk Islam) works in mysterious my friend. HE is very fair.
The management lads can't design IC. But compare IC designer and average management exec, they earn equal or more money, that's for sure. Where cost and money rules, that is where IC designer is merely a designer and the management exec triumph. |

yups.. batch 2009 yg officially first batch yg masuk kontrak.. and ptd skang dah xnaik cepat.. skang nak jadi ptd x susah mcm dulu, cume nak dpt status permanent tu, kena usaha lebih.. jpa pon tgh review mcm2 dasar utk ptd ni.. statement yg kate ptd naik pangkat cepat dah x relevan dah.. |

btw, xpayah la nak compare sgt cert masing2.. engineer ke, management ke, hape ke.. sama jek.. kalo cita2 nak jadi ptd, buang la attitude mcm tuh.. aku nak reveal lebih2 pon xbole.. ada rezki korg nak jadi ptd, ade la tu.. gud luck all.. |

salam semua..Saya br je lulus PAC 13/12 lepas dan skang nih tengah tunggu surat panggilan interview la.. Saya ade kemusykilan sket.. saya ni dh dlm gov tp lantikan SPP.. senang citer sy nih cikgu..Saya ade dengar citer yang pihak SPA takkan layan pegawai dalam perkhidmatan selain dari lantikan SPA. btul ker? |
