Charitable Donation in His Name
It is a tradition for Jerry's fans to make charitable
donations in his name. They once again followed
the tradition this Chinese New Year by making a
donation of NT$30,000 to the Catholic Children and
Juvenile Center in Miao-Li County where Jerry paid
a private visit last year. The receipt of the donation
together with NT$600 (a Chinese New Year's tradition)
were included in a red envelop for Jerry. It is a Chinese
tradition to give red lucky envelops to children and single
people as a good wish. His fans of course did not forget
to give a red envelop to Jerry's new nephew who is
celebrating his first Chinese New Year.
Jerry is used to giving envelops ever since he hit
his stardom. His fans gave him a rare opportunity
of receiving the lucky envelop that is full of love and
caring. Let's hope fans of other celebrities can all make
such good deeds so that we are not relying on some
hot shot philanthropist.

“Newday” event, co-hosted by Apple Daily and Azio TV, took place yesterday at A11 Xinyi Place Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Taipei to raise funds for Japanese earthquake victims. Jerry Yan joined renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami on stage at the charity event. Jerry Yan also demonstrated his Japanese language skills. The total fund raised amounted to TWD 4.6 million as of 6 pm. Jerry’s fans flew in especially from Japan and Hong Kong to show their support. They have donated TWD 574 thousand and received 164 specially designed “Newday” t-shirts in return.
Jerry Yan appeared in a blue “Newday” t shirt to join Takashi Murakami who made the trip especially for the event. Jerry was surprised to learn that Takashi Murakami once attended a F4 concert in Japan. He replied in Japanese: “really? I don’t believe it!” Takashi Murakami said that Jerry portrayed a more mature style in the concert but he looked very young in person today.
Sharing a similar difficult childhood experience, Jerry Yan and Takashi Murakami both work very hard to gain their popularity today. Takashi Murakami gave his autographed book to Jerry as a gift. Jerry caused a quite chase after a short stay. He is reported returning to work in may and was in a very high spirit. He said: “I’m so happy to see you all again.”
Jerry Yan has always been a generous philanthropist. His fans have always been very good at following his footsteps. In addition to the earlier donation of TWD 1.45 million to the earthquake victims in Japan and Yunnan China, his fan clubs have made additional donations at “Newday” event, including TWD 147 thousand (receiving 42 Newday t-shirts) by nbbbs.com, and TWD 287 thousand (receiving 82 Newday t-shirts) by yanchengxu.net. 之前有機會跟國修老師及月姊詳聊，知道他們對屏風、對這部現代武俠戲的用心讓我收穫良多。「王國密碼」很好看喔，到現在我還記憶猶新的不時跟周邊有看過的朋友討論劇情，也一直跟沒看過的朋友推薦，這樣就可以跟這些新看的朋友討論。我在想如果有時間的話，還想再去看一次，應該會有不同的驚喜發現吧！

這一陣子，跟朋友去新竹看了部屏風的舞台劇「王國密碼」，讓我真的好驚豔，沒想到舞台劇可以做到這麼厲害，看到舞台上的演員們除了演戲之外，還像武俠高手般的在空中飛來飛去，可見導演及演員們的辛苦。

I went with my friends to watch a play by Ping Feng, [The Emperor's Code] in Xin Zhu. I was truly take aback as I had never imagined that a play could be so great. Seeing the actors not only acting on stage but also flying like Kung Fu masters in mid-air was amazing. The Director and actors must have put in a lot of hard work.

I had the chance to have a heart-to-heart chat with Teacher Guo Xiu and Big Sister, Yue. And I got to know about their Theatre Company, Ping Feng and I really gained a lot from their dedication to this modern sword-fighting play. [The Emperor's Code] is such a wonderful show, I can still vividly remember the play and often discussed the plot with my friends who have seen it. We could recommend it to those who have not watched it and then we could all discuss it with those who have just watched the play. If I have the time, I think I would watch it again and I'm sure I will have new, amazing discoveries!

Read that it had been a hectic day for the Nbbbs Team today, including that one correspondant couldn't land at the Chengdu airport due to weather as planned, another link-up person had electricity blackout at her location and her computer couldn't be used, the participants couldn't find the Master Kang Jasmine Tea to buy, etc... Luckily, it's over.
Read that today's location's a small venue which has 1000 seats only, so the participants should be able to see Jerry pretty good.
It seemed that there's a live broadcast on a Chengdu radio station. The host sat at the VIP section of the venue and most importantly, he/she said that the screaming volume of the audiences for Jerry and Ms. Wang was way too different.
First, the whole audience sang Jerry's I Really Really Love You when it was played. Then, fans were filmed. Then, a clip of passersby and fans taken in the afternoon was shown. Among all, a male fan said, "Yan Cheng Xu, I love you." There's also an oversea fan who expressed her support to Jerry with nonfluent Mandarin.
Then Jerry and Ms. Wang posed for taking 5 consecutive pictures. Ms Wang said that Jerry's a super gentle person who cares about others' feelings. Then, fans went on stage to send them gifts, and some were able to give Jerry a hug.
In Jerry's part, Meteor Garden was mentioned. Jerry gave massage to a male fan. Fans replayed scenes in Meteor Garden, Magic Kitchen, and DWL. Then, Jerry was touched by the clip shown, as kids he saw years ago have grown up. At the end, for Ms. Wang to leave first, Jerry stayed to attract fans' attention, so quite a number of people were able to get on stage to shake hands with him.
