Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Patrice Evra and Nani could be at his disposal this weekend.

The Red Devils have recently been victim of an injury crisis, with several of their first-team players sidelined.

However, the Premier League champions have still demonstratedimpressive form, while Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Park Ji-sung allreturned in the 5-0 midweek win at West Bromwich Albion.

And Ferguson has revealed Evra (ankle) and Nani (groin) are both set to return for the home clash with Everton on Saturday.

United prepare for Vidic verdict

On Friday, Sir Alex Ferguson will find out exactly what the price of that trip was.

The failure of United's rivals to take advantage of the Red Devils' attention being diverted at the FIFA Club World Cup is proving costly.

And Liverpool's inability to overcome Wigan last night means Ferguson's men will take a giant stride towards a hat-trick of championships - and their 18th English league title overall - if they do what Rafael Benitez's men have been unable to achieve in two meetings this month and defeat Everton.

United and Everton meet at Old Trafford on Saturday, and because Liverpool and Chelsea then go head-to-head at Anfield 24 hours later, there is a very real possibility United will be four points clear, with a game in hand, once the weekend's business is concluded.

Equally, there is a chance United will be consigned to tackle Inter Milan in their Champions League knock-out clash without Nemanja Vidic.

It has taken quite a while for the moment to arrive but FIFA will sit in judgement on the Serbian defender tomorrow following his dismissal in the Club World Cup final against LDU Quito on December 21.

Vidic was red-carded for swinging an elbow into the face of Claudio Bieler during United's 1-0 win in Yokohama.

The former Red Star Belgrade defender is facing the possibility of anything up to a three-match ban, with the suspension covering all UEFA-registered competitions.

It means Vidic could end up sitting out both legs against Inter and the start of the quarter-final, should United make it through.

Old Trafford officials are pointing to the leniency shown to AC Milan's Kakha Kaladze when he was dismissed in the same competition two years ago as some kind of precedent, although FIFA have already stated they will hear the case on its merits.

If Vidic is ruled out for an extended period, it would be a major blow for Ferguson as the 27-year-old has proved himself to be one of Europe's most accomplished defenders and was the cornerstone of United's triumphant Champions League quest last term.

He is also a regular goalscorer and found the net for the sixth time this season in Tuesday's five-goal romp at West Brom which, as Liverpool's struggles continue, has allowed them to take a two-point lead at the Premier League summit.

Midfielder Ryan Giggs said: "We knew winning the tournament in Japan would set us up nicely for when we came back.

"That is exactly what happened. No-one really capitalised on us being away and things have turned out just the way we hoped, maybe even a little bit quicker than we expected."

It is hard to fathom the astonishing form reversal. Eleven games without conceding a goal is a simple enough reason. Yet that run has been achieved by a defence that has suffered a succession of major injury problems and a strike-force that, until Tuesday night, had found difficulty in hitting the net.

Indeed, during successive games against Wigan and Bolton earlier this month United went 178 minutes without scoring, yet still emerged with six points thanks to Wayne Rooney's first-minute goal against the Latics and Dimitar Berbatov's last-gasp effort at the Reebok Stadium.

Since they returned from the Far East only Aston Villa have come close to keeping pace with Ferguson's side.

Not that Giggs, a veteran of all 10 championship triumphs under Ferguson, is allowing himself to get carried away by talk of an 11th to match his shirt number.

"There is a long way to go and there are some good teams up there," he said in typically understated fashion.

"It's going to be close between ourselves, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal.

"The testing time will come when we are in the latter stages of all the competitions and every league game is important. That is when we will need our squad."

As Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Park Ji-sung were all available at the Hawthorns and Patrice Evra might be back this weekend, Giggs looks like getting his wish.

Ferdinand begins to eye title

Rio Ferdinand is confident Manchester United will lift more silverware in May if they can maintain their present momentum.

A run of six straight Barclays Premier League wins has taken United two points clear of Chelsea, hammered at Old Trafford earlier this month, and Liverpool.

Five goals at West Brom on Tuesday was a further sign of United's well-being, and the Red Devils tackle Everton tomorrow - knowing they can take a major step towards a title hat-trick, given their two closest rivals meet at Anfield on Sunday.

"We have got to the top of the league," Ferdinand notes.

"We need to consolidate on that now and try to keep the momentum going to get more points on the board.

"If we continue to do that, in the manner of the last few games, we have got a great chance of picking up some silverware."

Ferdinand's return from a back injury was a major boost to the Red Devils - with Patrice Evra not far behind, the France full-back in line for a comeback after a foot injury picked up against Chelsea.

Like Ferdinand, Evra has been part of a settled squad that has dominated at home and abroad for the past 12 months.

Experience is one of the reasons Ferdinand believes United will have the edge over the next four months.

"It is there, and maybe that is the edge we have got on the other teams," he said.

"It is not everything, because you need that momentum - but we love playing in big pressure games."

That is not to say Ferdinand wants the title race to go down to the wire.

In the two years immediately after their 1999 Treble-winning campaign, United won the title by 18 and 10 points - which would do the England defender just fine.

"Everyone would tell you they would rather win it by 10 or 20 points, but it doesn't work like that," he said.

"You never get anything easy in life. You have to work hard, and we know that."

Once again, Ferguson is likely to make changes - with Paul Scholes among those set to be introduced and Ryan Giggs likely to stand down after another outstanding performance in midweek.

Saudi Telecom Set To Replace AIG

Saudi Arabia based Saudi Telecom (STC) has signed a 5-year marketing agreement with UK based football club, Manchester United. As part of the deal, Saudi Telecom will be featured on the company's website and inside their main stadium - along with sending 70 Saudi students for football training in Manchester each year.

"The partnership will significantly raise STC's global profile since the club has a huge fan base throughout the world and a strong following among football fans throughout the Middle East and especially in Saudi Arabia." said H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser, Chairman of Saudi Telecom.

As part of the agreement, all STC's business units will have full use of the Manchester United logo in marketing campaigns and usage of the club's logo and players' photographs in STC retail centres.

"The club has a brilliant track record of global success in branding and we will be working closely with a specialist marketing team from MUFC to develop innovative ideas to support the partnership. As an example of what's to come, in line with the popular trend in cell phones STC is already in the process of creating and activating a Manchester United mobile." added Dr Al-Jasser.

Announcing the deal, David Gill, Chief Executive Officer of Manchester United said "This ground breaking partnership will bring the action of Manchester United direct to our millions of fans across Saudi Arabia. Our match earlier this year in Riyadh demonstrated the passion our Saudi fans have for Manchester United and we are excited to be partnered with Saudi Telecom, the region's biggest player."
