{TRANS} G-Dragon's Interview on Junon Magazine, Japan
Q: What was your dream when you were small?
G.D-I wanted to be a singer. Ever since I was small, I wanted to be a singer. I wanted to write the lyrics myself since I was in primary school and wanted to convey my feeling to others through music.
Q: You are the cool GD. What is the key of dressing up?
G.D-The outlook of the clothes and choose those which fit your figure well. I used to wear those designed clothes which everyone would not wear but I have changed now. Comparing with colorful clothes, I now prefer plain clothes.(not very outstanding when you are wearing it) I have 1 piece of clothes I bought in Japan that I love most since there are so many modern boutiques in Japan, I can buy more there than in Korea.
Q. What kind of emotion have you revealed in ‘Beautiful Hangover’?
G.D-This is the topic that I have not written before. Although love and hangover are two different things, for the people who are deeply lovestruck, hangover can also be used to describe this situation. This is not my own experience, I only imagined that what if I was that crazily in love with another person? Then I wrote the song. If I was in love that deep with a girl, I would have such a feeling too.
Q: What is the most beautiful thing to you ?
G.D-The sunset glow. When it is sunset, the color of the clouds is very beautiful. In Korea, Jeong-dong-jin is a place renowned for its attractive pond view. The sunset glow and the dawn are both very beautiful.
Q: How do you write songs with ‘easy to catch’ melody?
G.D-Sometimes, I write the lyrics and melody both at the same time and sometimes, I get inspiration from others’ songs. I then imagine the lyrics at the same time when I am writing the melody. The new song ‘Somebody To Love’ belongs to the first category. I write both the melody and the lyrics at the same time. And very often the lyrics pops up at night or before I go to bed.
Q: Which song do you like most in BIGBANG songs?
G.D-I like ‘Lie’ which was released in 07 the most since this song made us popular. A lot of happy memories were accumulated when we were performing this song. This is a song which carries loads of our memories and I like MV which contains a plot too.
Q: What do you want to do in this autumn?
G.D-I want to try Bungee jump in Korea since I have never tried that before, I want to challenge that and relieve my pressure in the sky. I am not scary of height and the highest height of the Bungee jump in Korea is only 40 meters so that does not matter. Maybe there are some places which offer a higher height…but not 100 metres.(Laugh)
After investigation, the most favourite fruit of GD is pineapples so we will just prepare pineapples next time.

[STAR INTERVIEW 2] Taeyang is revitalized by the fans of Venezuela
BIGBANG Taeyang is stepping one step further towards his goal.
Taeyang has released his solo SOLAR album on 25th August and has attracted attention from fans all around the world. The first debut song ,’I ‘ll be there’ garnered the first place on the North America iTunes Chart and also the third place of Canada R&B chart. This song also captured the fifth place in America and Japan. Although this was just his first try to embark his singing career overseas, if we have not forgotten his music dream which has been held for a long time, perhaps we will then understand the true meaning of this album.
‘This world seems to be getting crueler. That’s why I want to produce music which can strike the heart chord of people. I sincerely hope that I can have a world tour with this kind of influential music. I know there are cultural differences, what I wish is that everybody can listen to my songs’
He kept saying that since last December—he really has a strong determination which is to communicate with everyone through music. By releasing his international album, he has stepped 1 step towards to his goal.
‘Fans from distant places like Venezuela and Brazil told me that they fell in love with my songs after they had listened them on iTunes. This sentence has been my motivation to sing. I believe, although I have not gone to those countries for promotion, as long as I make music with my heart, people from all places will listen to my songs.’
Taeynag has opened a twitter account recently since he believes that there are people all around the world listening to his songs and this is a channel for them to communicate with each other. Regarding the ‘overseas market’, the entertainment business usually focuses on the results. However, Taeyang does not hold the same view.He does not have the ambition to sweep Oricon and Billboard but he wants to move others’ hearts with the worldly common language- music.
‘ In fact, I have also thought that “I should target at one particular country to make my music”, but I do not think so now. I only want to hold onto my belief and make my music. Then, I believe no matter which countries the people are from, they can still feel my heart, just like the good results that I get from this album. I firmly believe that I can approach the public step by step with my music.’
On the other hand, Taeyang will be having his second solo concert on 25th and 26th at Kyung Hee University Peace Center. Besides performing the songs that are in his album, he has also prepared some songs which have not yet performed in the pubic to show the fans which really creates great eagerness among his fans. |

Q：Your Japanese is very fluent. Which phrase do you like most?
A: ‘This chic is my wife.’If I say this to a girl, she will be very happy. I was told that. (laugh) Q：Among the ones that you have watched recently, which Japnese dramas or films do you like most?
A：’Kisarazu Cat’s Eye’, Although I don’t like bad youths, I like dramas about them. (Laugh) .Junichi Okada is nice so is Sakurai Sho but the best is UCHI（the nickname of Junichi Okada）!」 Q：What do you recommend about ‘Beautiful Hangover’?
A：It has a very easy-to-follow melody and you can sing it very relaxingly and happily. The climax of the song is ‘君は(pronounced as: Kimiwa) MY BEAUTIFUL HANGOVER~’, this part is the main point of the song. The lyrics depicts a man who has fallen for a girl, then his head was painful like getting a hangover since her stuff is troubling him all day long. In fact, I have not had such a romantic story yet… because I am young.(laugh) Q：What do you think is the most beautiful thing to you?
A：Fans! When I was in our concert, at the very moment on the stage, I saw the light flashing from the VIP crown torches—in an instant the scene extended from my view, this is the most beautiful scene I have ever seen. Q：What actions of a girl will attract you？
A：I love to see girls tie their pony tails and love to see their face like that,I think the ears of girls are cute so I really do believe that it is charming for them to tie up their hair and show the ears. By the way, I also have a lot of confidence with my earlobes!(Laugh) The soft earlobes are my charming point! (Laugh) Q：What is the biggest risk in your life?
A：TOP hyun has once invited me to go out for a drink,’let’s drink’ but since it was already late and I was also busy with my solo work, I was so tired. Therefore, I rejected him, ‘It is not convenient today’. TOP hyun then pulled a long face to me, I felt very risky at that time(Laugh). Other reasons are I don’t want to burden my parents and I don’t want to show my weak sides to my fellow members. I seldom discuss these things with others. But now I am 20 already, I can now solve the problems myself. If I encounter something sad or things that make me angry now, my mindset can be adjusted in 15 minutes and I can then pick up my own rhythm. Q. What do you want to do in this autumn?
A：I want to see the reddened leaves. If it is autumn, won’t the color of the mountain be changed to red? Although I have heard that it is a very beautiful view, I have not seen that once. Ever since I was small, I have been receiving music training. If I got a chance, I would like to watch the reddish leaves with a Japanese girl! |

G-Dragon reveals the real reason behind Big Bang’s album delay
SinceNovember of 2008, Big Bang has taken an extremely long hiatus from theKorean music market. Although the boys have created digital releasesfor CFs and contributed in drama OSTs, fans have been patiently waitingfor a solid official release. Yet the longer the hiatus stretches, themore anxious fans have become. The situation has degenerated to thepoint where there are whispers of deteriorating relationships amongstthe members, or that the members enjoy acting more than music.
BigBang appeared at Taeyang’s ‘Solar’ concert on September 26th to showtheir support for their fellow member. As the concert came to a close,leader G-Dragon met with reporters and revealed the current progress oftheir next album.
G-Dragon stated, “We’ve completed the songproductions but we’ve yet to decide what kind of concept to go with.There were a lot of songs we made over the past two years, but thatalso means there are a lot to choose from. It wasn’t easy choosingsongs that fit Big Bang and would also satisfy our fans.”
One ofthe main concerns for the group was the changed music tastes of themass public and the fast cycling of the music market. G-Dragon solemnlycontinued, “I have no confidence in the market anymore. These days,singers finish their promotion cycles in three weeks, and everythingchanges again. The thought of preparing for two years and onlyreceiving three weeks of love is upsetting.”
G-Dragon brings upan interesting phenomenon that has been occurring lately. Songs areever-changing and receive the “old” treatment once three weeks go by.New songs are always pouring into the market and singers are constantlyreleasing new songs in order to keep up.
G-Dragon concluded, “Iwant to sing songs that receive love over longer periods of time. We’llbe working our hardest to make sure that a new Big Bang album isreleased by the end of this year.”

Big Bang will release two Japanese DVDs on October!
Along with the release of their first photo book (Electric Love Concert Photobook), Big Bang will release two DVDs on October 27th, titled, “BIGSHOW 2010” and “2009-2010 BIGSHOW MAKING DVD&BOOK SPECIAL REPACKAGE”.
“BIGSHOW 2010” will be their concert from January this year in Korea, and the DVDs will come with a 260 page booklet of the concert. While Japan has its own version, the Japanese version will come with a clip of “Koe wo Kikasete” live. It will also be region free and come with subtitles in Japanese and Korean and have an original design.
The “2009-2010 BIGSHOW MAKING DVD&BOOK SPECIAL REPACKAGE” is an original DVD with a “behind the scenes” of their 2009 and 2010 concerts, including multi-angled shots of the events. The Japanese version will come with a “making of book” of “SHOW ANOTHER BIG SHOW (2009 BIG BANG CONCERT MAKING BOOK” and “2010 BIG BANG CONCERT MAKING BOOK”, and an original cellphone strap. |

Big Bang's First Official Photobook
Popular 5 member Korean unit BIGBANG will release their first official photobook “BIGBANG PRESENTS ELECTRIC LOVE TOUR 2010” (Gentosha, 2800 yen, ~33 USD).
The photobook will be from their Japan Tour in February. They had 6 performances and a total of 50,000 people attended. The cameraman gets full coverage of their rehearsals, back stage, and their main performances. The book is considered an “Epic” with 208 all color pages and a total of 354 pictures.
There will also be a long interview with the 5 members included. Leader G-DRAGON (22) said, “It would make me happy if you all could take advantage of this and understand us more deeply and know what we humanly think about.”
