Hankyung, Beijing Olympics torch bearer

Super Junior’s Chinese member Hankyung is going to be one of the torchbearers of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He will be participating in the torch lighting relay that will start on August 6. The Beijing Olympics will be opened on August 8.
According to the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee, it recognizes Hankyung’s contribution to the cultural exchange between Korea and China and finally made him as a Beijing Olympics torchbearer. Chinese Netizens also think that Hankyung deserves to be a torchbearer because he is on top of Coca Cola’s poll in selecting torchbearers. Coca Cola is one of Beijing Olympics’ official sponsors.
Hankyung will be attending a torchbearer oath taking ceremony on the 24th at 5 pm in Shenzhen, China, which will be recorded and broadcast through CCTV-5 and Guandong TV.
“I’m very happy and honored to be selected as a Beijing Olympic torchbearer. I owe fans their love and support. In the future, I’ll be presenting a better Hankyung,” Hankyung said.

Debut
Before we made our debut on Nov. 6, we spent a lot of time training. It was a very precious period as it helped me become who I am today, living each day to the fullest.
Group Name
It wasn't originally "Super Junior." It was simply, "Junior." Many people ask me why we were named, "Junior," which means young students. It was largely because we joined an agency at an young age. The agency had a big picnic once. We showed off our hidden talents and individual specialties at the outing. Luckily, we were spotted by the agency's CEO. He said, "You guys are superbly multi-talented." Since that day, we have been called Super Junior.
Super Junior
"From now on, you're Super Junior. Please become a versatile group," said the CEO. At first, we were unsure if he named us, "Super Junior" or "Super Owner." Come to think of it, Super Junior's the best name.
Leadership
As I lacked leadership skills and the ability to take care of others, I thought I wouldn't be able to lead the group. I was ready to resign as the group leader, if things went beyond my control. I always had it in mind, but every member has been highly motivated and moved in the same direction, like a set of gears. In fact, they helped me to stand out. I'm deeply grateful to them.
Memory
All our members would agree that our debut performance was on Nov. 6. Every one of us, including me, was full of happiness and joy to be on stage. I vividly remember our first performance. I was so nervous that everything went black. When the spotlight fell on me, I couldn't see anything, except the lighting. After the performance, we went back to the waiting room. We clung to each other and cried. None of them has changed a bit since then. What a bunch of great guys...

Because we have many members, we never get bored. And we never get intimidated wherever we go. I'm an introvert, yet I used to be even more timid. Now I can't avoid clashes with other members, and share joy and sadness with them. I think I have changed a lot. Though we don't share blood, I love them like my own brothers. I wish we could stay together forever. Though it can be my selfish desire, I hope all other members think the same.

Fan
Frankly, I always tell my fans that I understand how difficult it is to be our fan. We never take a break and release new albums one after another, including SM Town and sub-groups' albums. If I were in their shoes, I'd have given up being a Super Junior fan.
Breath
I'm really thankful to my fans, they're as important as the air to me. We can't live without air, not even for a moment, without fans, Super Junior cannot exist.
Radio DJ
One of the most rewarding experiences was when I read an article about a leukemia patient. She said my radio show gave her a reason to live. So, during the live broadcast, Eun Hyuk and I promised to go and see her. A part-time worker wanted to buy our 2nd album. When he was purchasing it online, he clicked a wrong button and ended up buying 32 copies of it. It could have been a lot of money to him. I thank him from the bottom of my heart. If he brings the CDs, I'll sign an autograph on every one of the albums for him.
Dream
I've been a big fan of radio since I was very little. Now I'm doing what I've always dreamed of doing. As a DJ, I can give dreams and hopes to others. I'm really glad to be a Radio DJ. Lee Moon-se has been the longtime host of "The Starry Night." I'd also like to be a longtime host of a radio show.
Wish
You may say it's such nonsense. But I always liked Super Junior's balloon color, sapphire blue pearl. Until sapphire blue pearl covers the entire planet, Super Junior will continue to perform. Each member is working hard in each area. I hope we will not only steal the spotlight at domestic awards, but also the Grammys and many other international award ceremonies so that we can make Super Junior known to the world as the best group of the 21st century.
