IPOH - Sebanyak 57 rumah di Gugusan Manjoi rosak teruk akibat dilanda puting beliung petang tadi.
Kawasan yang terlibat ialah Kampung Tengku Hussein Baru dan Kampung Sungai Tapah Seberang.
Anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri Manjoi, Mohamed Ziad Mohamed Zainal Abidin berkata dalam kejadian kira-kira 2.45 petang itu, kebanyakan rumah rosak teruk di bahagian bumbung.
"Bahagian yang paling teruk adalah bumbung. Ada juga rumah yang pagarnya roboh," katanya kepada pemberita selepas melawat rumah yang terlibat di Kampung Tengku Hussein Baru.
Beliau berkata mangsa yang terlibat kini ditempatkan di Dewan Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Kampung Tengku Hussein Baru, bagaimanapun jumlahnya masih belum dikenal pasti.
"Bantuan segera akan dihulurkan kepada mangsa terlibat untuk meringankan beban mereka," katanya.
Seorang mangsa Habsah Yassin, 86, dari Kampung Tengku Hussein Baru berkata bumbung rumahnya diterbangkan angin dengan sekelip mata dan menimpa kereta cucunya serta pagar rumah sementara barang-barang lain turut rosak.
Mohd Khalid Mohd Tahir, 60, dari kampung yang sama berkata ketika kejadian beliau sedang membakar sate bersama anggota keluarganya.
"Kami hanya mampu menyorok di kawasan selamat," katanya sambil menjelaskan kejadian itu merupakan kali ketiga sepanjang 35 tahun beliau menetap di kampung itu. - Bernama
