Benjamin "Ben" Barnes (born August 20, 1981) is an English actor. He has appeared in the television series Doctors and Split Decision, and in the films Stardust, Bigga than Ben, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Early Life
Barnes was born in London, England to a psychiatrist father and therapist mother. He is an alumnus of King's College School, where he was a contemporary of film actor Khalid Abdalla and comedian Tom Basden. He studied Drama and English literature at Kingston University, London.
Career
It was revealed in the June/July 2008 issue of CosmoGIRL! magazine that he was a backup singer in the boyband Hyrise, who were contestants in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Barnes began working in television in 2006. He made his film debut in the 2007 film Stardust, portraying Young Dunstan Thorn. He later starred in Suzie Halewood's Bigga Than Ben, which will be released in August 2008.
In February 2007, it was announced Barnes would play the role of Caspian in the film adaption of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, directed by Andrew Adamson. Adamson said "Caspian is a coming of age and, to some degree, a loss of innocence story, with Caspian starting out quite na飗e, then craving revenge and finally letting go of the vengeance." While many readers interpret Caspian as a child, a passage in the novel mentions his age to be near that of Peter's, so an older actor was sought to match William Moseley. Barnes had read the novel as a child, and was cast in two-and-a-half weeks after meeting with the filmmakers. He spent two months in New Zealand horse riding and stunt training to prepare for shooting. Barnes modelled his Spanish accent on Mandy Patinkin's performance as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride. Adamson did not expect to cast a British actor as Caspian, and said Barnes fitted well into the surrogate family of Adamson and the four actors playing the Pevensies. When cast, Barnes was set to tour with the National Theatre's production of The History Boys: producer Mark Johnson joked Barnes "probably isn't the National [Theatre]'s favorite actor right now". Barnes left England without telling the Theatre. Barnes is also set to reprise his role of Caspian (this time as King Caspian) in the third film in the Narnia series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Filming is expected to begin in October 2008 with a release date of May 7, 2010.
Barnes will be working his way around the world in June to promote Prince Caspian. In 2009, he will play John Whittaker in Easy Virtue. Barnes also has signed on for the latest version of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray directed by Oliver Parker and due for a 2009 release. He is currently living in London.

Walt Disney Co CEO Robert Iger said Wednesday that "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" is underperforming at the box office because of competition from "Iron Man" and "Indiana Jones."
Since its May 16 release, the "Narnia" sequel has earned $99.6 million in North America, according to Box Office Mojo. Its 2005 predecessor, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," had earned $122.7 million in the same period. It went on to make date $291.7 million.
Disney originally had "Caspian" set for last Christmas, but delayed it in deference to "The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep," a fantasy vying for the same audience.
The studio might also have been taking into account the feelings of Walden Media, its production partner on "Narnia" and the production company behind "Water Horse." That film, distributed by Sony, earned just $40 million domestically.
Iger, speaking at the Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference in New York, said " Prince Caspian " is a better movie than the first installment but because it was released between a couple of the year's biggest hits, audiences are overlooking it.
" Prince Caspian " was released less than two weeks after "Iron Man" and just six days before "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Both those pictures are headed into the $300 million area.
Iger lamented the "very delicate, very fragile marketplace" for movies in general, given that "there's just too much out there." As of now, the next movie in the "Narnia" series is set for release May 7, 2010.

kah3!! masa prince lari tuh aku pun pelik.. aku ingatkan masa pompuan tuh bersalin tuh, akuingatkan anak dia tuh yg prince caspian tuh.. pastu tetiber kena lari.. lagi plak tengok miraz tuh cam jahat... so, aku dahagak.. mesti dia nak bunuh prince caspian sbb nak anak lelaki dia yg baru lahir amik takhta..so, dah ader conclude kat situ ler...
pastu part yg susannyer anak panah tuh.. x yah cakaplah.. dari 1st narnia aku tertanya..baper byk busur dia nih?
then, kalo nak ckp pasal cam ada LOTR skit.. aku x baper heran sgtler.. sbb penulis Narnia ngan penulis LOTR kan kawan baik... so, mesti ada sesamer skit imiginasi tuh...
kalo nak dibandingkan Narnia 1 n 2 ler.. aku lagik suka yg no 2.. sbb Edmund dah besar dan hensem... Prince Caspian pun hensem.. ta[i tolonglah.. aku sama ngan Yuni.. aku x leh terima kalo Caspian tuh bercinta ngan SUsan.. aku x tau naper aku ada perasaan menyampah bila nengok Susan cam tarik2 goda Prince tuh.. merajuk marah ler..mmg nampak cam x der ler goda .. tapi cam ada ler main2 mata2 tuh.. cm rasa terpikat tuh.. aku x rasa susan sesuai ngan caspian tuh.. sepatutnya x yah ada babak kiss prince tuh langsung..
Part white witch tuh bg aku kalo x der langsung lg bagus... masa dia kena bunuh ngan edmud tuhpun aku rasa lega sebenarnya sbb aku x nak dorg byk sgt musuh yg kena lawan..
Si tikus yg ada ala2 brandon frasier skit dalam shrek tuh pun aku suker... pengikut dia pun lawok jerk masa ekor dia putus tuh.. ki3!!!
n yg aku tertanya.. ke manakah perginyer si jeneral, sepupu Prince n mak sedara psrince (merangkap isteri miraz) tuh msa dorg lalu laluan kat pokok tuh?
n kenapale si Aslam tuh nak hilangkan diri lelama? kan bagus kalo dia stay jer jaga Narnia tuh.. kalo dia x hilangkan diri.. kompm puak Telmarine tuh rosakkan Narnia..
waever.. puas ati gakler RM7 aku tuh tengok kat MidValley semalam.. boleh tahan ler berbanding no 1... |

cuma yg 2nd ni kurg menonjolkan watak2 narnian..dulu ada beaver, mr tumnus, aslan, white witch, centaur, fox..etc..maksud kat sini watak diorg byk diketengahkan la...yg 2nd ni mungkin sbb nak tunjuk watak caspian lebih skit tu yg jd watak2 narnian mcm kurang menonjol..
lagi satu pasal anak pana susan tu mungkin mmg magical cam legolas punya kot..bulih refill sendiri...tu pendapat aku la...sesapa yg ada baca buku dia maybe ada fakta yg tepat...
