Good News for Tourist.. now LTA dah keluarkan tourist ez-link card yg give unlimited rides to tourist & you can get a refund of your deposit if it was returned for refund within 5 days.

AT last, Singapore gets a travel pass for tourists.
From Thursday, tourists will be able to buy stored value cards to use on trains and buses.
The Singapore Tourist Pass (STP), produced by EZ-Link in collaboration with the Land Transport Authority and Singapore Tourism Board (STB), gives tourists unlimited rides on public transport system here, with the option of a 1-Day, 2-Day or 3-Day pass for just S$8 per day.

'With the STP, travelling on Singapore's MRT, LRT and basic bus services becomes a cost-effective and convenient way for tourists to explore Singapore and enjoy the best the city has to offer,' said STB in a statement on Wednesday.
The tourist pass, bought or issued in Singapore at authorised sales counters, comes with a refundable rental deposit of S$10 if it is returned within five days of issuance.
The card can be purchased or returned at designated Transitlink Ticket offices located at selected MRT stations.
By June next year, it can also be purchased or returned at the Singapore Visitor's Centres located at Orchard Road and Changi Airport.

The tourist pass can also function like a normal ez-link card so tourists can top up the value of the card and make payments at selected retail outlets.

In addition, tourists can use it to enjoy a variety of special offers and discounts at selected merchants.
Even when validity period of the pass has ended, tourists can continue to use the card just like a normal ez-link card by topping up the card with value or they can purchase a new pass.

Complementing the tourist pass is the 'Travel with Ease - Public Transport Guide for Tourists'.
It is a comprehensive, foldout guide that shows tourists how to explore Singapore using the public transport system.
It presents tourists with useful information on the various modes of public transport and gives travel directions to various places of interest.

Also included are map information on Singapore's MRT and LRT System and Key Bus Services for Orchard Road. Available in English, Simplified Chinese and Bahasa Melayu, the Guide can be picked up at selected Singapore Visitors Centres and MRT stations.

Commenting on the launch of the two initiatives on Wednesday, Mr Jeremy Yap, Acting Group Director, Vehicle & Transit Licensing, LTA said: 'For the first-time visitor in an unfamiliar city, finding their way around using public transport may require some effort.'

'With the 'Travel with Ease' Guide and The Singapore Tourist Pass, visitors to Singapore can now plan and navigate their public transport travel effectively and confidently.'

Mr Muhammad Rostam Umar, Director of Communications, STB added: 'We see the initiatives launched today as being important for visitors interested in exploring Singapore on their own and to discover for themselves the many unique and exciting experiences that Singapore has to offer.'

'With the introduction of the Singapore Tourist Pass and the 'Travel with Ease' Guide, we will be better able to meet the needs of this group of visitors.'

Saya sempat pi Istana Kampong Glam, Masjid Sultan, Zoo, Night Safari, Malay Village Geylang Serai dan beberapa lagi tempat
Next time Insyallah ada rezeki saya pi ke Little India utk borong coklat kat Mustafa Center

sama jln umah sedara je..tis time around nk bwk anak i p jln orchard road tgk xmas lights. sama nak sopping2 skit...dgr org beli handbag kat OG ..mcm teringin jugak nk p..heheehe..
oh yes sama nak beli kain cotton 2 pasang ..kain cotton kat sana cantek2 design n lembut tau..kan kak crank hehe
oh ya kak crank ..nk tny skng ni VEP fees utk keter M'sia still lagi free for 10 days kan?

my children tengok lampu2...sambil2 tu nak gi sopping skalik. Need ur pendapat la.

Kalau christmas eve, kat orchard malam tu still meriah lg tak (coz back in '97...waduhhh...
macam ada parade jer...semua orng siap pakai christmas hat yg lip-lap2). Shopping mall
sales still on ke on the 25th tu...maksud I kedai tak tutupkan?

Kat Geylang, apa yg best kat sana? Nak makan kueh lopez lah...mana yg best?

25th bukak... cuma mungkin certain small shops tutup.

And yes, selalunya X'mas eve & New Year eve mmg happening di orchard.. dan some malls have extended shopping hours.. ni ada some yg I dpt kumpul malls yg participate in extended hours shopping

TANGS ORCHARD - 21st to 23rd = 12 midnight / 24th till 5pm / 25th closed.
WISMA ATRIA = every Sat exteded to 1 am / 21st to 23rd = 11pm
PARAGON
CENTERPOINT = every Sat exteded 11PM
MARINA SQUARE = Every Fri & Sat from 1 - 31 Dec 2007, shopping hours extended till 11pm. 8 & 22 Dec, till 12 midnight
