Takuya Kimura cast in Tran Anh Hung film "I come With the Rain" with Josh Harnett

Reportshave come in that Vietnamese-French director Tran Anh Hung is workingon a new film titled "I Come With the Rain." Josh Hartnett stars as aprivate detective hired to find a young man in Hong Kong. The cast issaid to include Takuya Kimura, Lee Byung-Hun, Shawn Yue, and Tran NuYen-Khe. Filming is taking place mostly in Hong Kong, but otherlocations include the Philippines and Los Angeles.
UPDATE:Sankei Sports has confirmed the cast with some role details. Hartnettis a former L.A. cop who is now a private detective. A wealthy manhires Hartnett to find his son (Kimura), and the detective teams upwith his former colleague, a Hong Kong policeman (Yue). He alsoencounters a local gangster (Lee) and his mistress (Tran). During theinvestigation, he recalls the painful memory of a serial killer, whosemurders were the reason he resigned from the police force.
Themovie is being spoken entirely in English. The film is scheduled toopen in fall 2008, and there are hopes for a screening at next year'sCannes Film Festival. |

| So the blank image was no mistake at all! Again we see the draconian and utterly ridiculous Johnny's Jimusho policy towards images of its stars used on the internet. Yes, JJ can use Kimura Takuya on its cover, available in newsstands across the land, but no, JJcannot use its own cover image on the internet to promote the issue.Otherwise, people on the internet may be able to figure out what KimuraTakuya looks like. Or they will be so mollified by a tiny 155 x 193pixel jpg that they'll cease buying those 3"x5"s of Kimutaku at idolshops in Harajuku. Or Johnny's is just so controlling that they evendon't let their talents hang mirrors in the company dorm lest lightreflect upon a surface and portraits be viewed without proper payment. |
At a decade circulation low of 175,634 copies a month, JJneeds some sort of gimmick to get back in the game, and the Faustianbargain of Johnny's involvement is a surefire way to move paper.Johnny's in return gets some nice promotion for Kimura's newest Hero film opening in September. So Kobunsha can use Kimura's image to boost JJsales, but not show evidence of this collaboration on the internet,where evil dwells and the 21st century naturally eradicatesanachronistic and feudalistic business practices propping up thecurrent oligopoly. Johnny's Jimusho has seen the future and theirgenius solution is to completely avoid it.
