Rain Performs World Tour Concert in Japan
Korea is too small for him!
This time, world star Rain flew to Japan to demonstrate his musical prowess once again.
Meet Rain, a singer that has transcended borders and touched the hearts of the world, at his concert recently held in Japan.
Prior to the concert, Rain appeared at a press conference. A great many camera flashes went off from everywhere. And following the photo session, Rain briefly introduced himself in Japanese.
This was the Tokyo Dome where Rain’s concert was held. As if welcoming his arrival, it rained.
Finally, Rain made his appearance on stage to deliver a spectacular performance for Japanese fans.
We met up with Rain and asked him how he felt about the concert.
Can you hear this sound? Although the pronunciation was not perfect, enthusiastic Japanese fans were calling out Rain’s Korean name, “Jung Ji-hoon.” Rain must have heard it as well, don’t you think?
During the concert, Rain also expressed his deep gratitude for being able to stage his ongoing world tour with modesty.

Anofficer from Seoul Central Criminal Department has stated on 6th July,"Regarding the concert cancellation, Mr Lee (the representative fromClick Entertainment) has pushed all the responsibilites to StarM,Revolution, JYPE and the innocent Rain and accused them of fraud in thecourt.
The representative of Mr Lee spoke through Sportskhan6th July afternoon, "Rain's agency JYPE gained the profit by sellingthe world tour copyright at 10 billion Won, whereas the main organisersStarM and Revolution exaggerated the profit income of Rain's tourconcerts so that they can cheat more capitals from the investors."
"AlthoughRain's concert should be carried on till the end of June (unfortunatelyhe is sued as well), Rain still becomes the victim between his previousagency and concert organiser."
The representative continued,"(StarM) could have gained good margin from the share market justbecause of Rain's overseas concert. In the beginning, the organisershave already ignored USA laws and went ahead with the shows." Mr Leewas called by the court for further investigation, thus he had to rushback from Hawaii on July 5.
Rain who was grief-strickenbecause of concert cancellation can only keep silent. The relavantpersonnel said, "The name was gained back from the court but it hurtsRain's fame as a world star. Thus he can only keep silent." "We highlyconcern about his worry and next steps."
However, there wererumours saying that Rain had further discussions with the involvedcompanies to cope with the aftermath of cancellation. A personnel fromentertainment industry mentioned, "No matter how, it won't causenegative impact on Rain who has noble characters."

[Rain's Los Angeles Concert Canceled]
June 30, 2007 (KABC-TV) - There's won't be Rain at Staples Center on Saturday night. The singer's concert has been canceled.
Staples Center officials told Eyewitness News the singer's promoter issued the request to cancel the concert because of an issue with the concert production.
People with tickets should contact the entity they purchased the tickets from for information on a refund.

Pop star Rain shed tears after his concert in Los Angeles was abruptly canceled just hours before the scheduled performance due to the local promoter's lack of preparation and financial problems, according to reports yesterday.
The American leg of the popular singer's ``Rain's Coming'' world tour has flopped altogether, as Los Angeles was the only remaining concert after his four other scheduled performances including New York and Atlanta were indefinitely postponed earlier this month, following a lawsuit over the copyright of the name ``Rain.'' The lawsuit was settled only late last month when a Nevada court dismissed the case against the Rain Corporation, a Nevada-based music company that sued over the rights.

Officials at Rain's Seoul-based concert management company, Star M, attributed the cancellation of the Los Angeles concert to the L.A.-based promoter that did not pay subcontractors money owed to them on time. As the companies withdrew, the stage was left bare without lighting or screens, according to Star M.
The 25-year-old singer and actor expressed a strong wish to appear on stage to greet his fans, but this was impossible due to regulations on performances, Star M said.
Rain's ambitious plan for a limited tour of the United States has now come to an unfortunate end, leaving a bad taste in fans' mouths and a lawsuit. Last month, Click Entertainment, a Honolulu-based promoting company for Rain's concert, filed a lawsuit against the singer's Korean managers, claiming they were not informed of the cancellation and swindled out of about $500,000. Star M plans to counter the lawsuit with a defamation suit.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, expressed his sentiments on the recent unfolding of events on his official Web site on his birthday June 25.
``I hope that people's greed doesn't ruin our concerts any more,'' he wrote in Korean and English. ``I'd better plan the next tour and set up the stage by myself. Then, there won't be any problems, will there?''

Pop Singer Rain Cancels L.A. Concert
Korean pop sensation Rain canceled a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, just one hour before he was due to go on stage.
Star M, the Korea-based producer of the singer's world tour, blamed the situation on financial problems with the local producer.
"The local producer didn't pay local companies to prepare for the concert, and equipment was not installed as it should have been. Some companies even withdrew their equipment," Star M said.
Star M said, "Although Rain showed his intent to perform at least one song, we were unable to present the concert since basic stage equipment had not been properly installed one hour and 30 minutes before the performance. It was decided to refund the tickets."
Rain had planned to perform in five U.S. cities including New York and Atlanta, but was forced to cancel all but the L.A. show after a Nevada-based company called Rain Corporation filed a legal challenge. The company claims to hold the copyright to an American band of the same name.
